I teach instrumental lessons (face to face from my Music Studio and online) on flute, piano, singing, saxophone and clarinet, as well as music theory. I also offer general musical skills sessions for young children who are not quite old enough to learn one specific instrument yet. I have experience as a Music Teacher and Lecturer for schools and colleges, so I also offer help with GCSE and A-Level Music. I attend regular Safeguarding training and I have an advanced DBS on the update service. I also have experience working with children who have special educational needs and EHCP’s. Learning music and an instrument as well as being part of a group or ensemble, is about much more than becoming a performer. The skills and techniques learnt, are incredibly versatile for use in other subjects as well as being valuable life skills. Below are some of the skills which are developed in Music: Co-ordination Motor skills Imagination Expression Commitment Discipline Organisation skills Self evaluation Confidence Team work Communication Support Setting targets and goals Sense of achievement I am also a Musical Director for choirs where the importance is on community, enjoyment, health and well being and making sure that people feel included and good about singing with a wide range of repertoire including classical, folk, jazz, gospel, pop and musical theatre. I also have experience of running school and college choirs, orchestras and ensembles. I choose repertoire of various genres for students to explore different sounds and styles, with some being quicker to learn but effective, to build a more instant satisfaction and confidence within the group, while other pieces are more technical, allowing students to challenge themselves. As well as being a solo Flautist, Singer, and Saxophonist, I am part of an acoustic Classical Flute and Guitar duo, a Folk duo, a Jazz ensemble and a Folk Rock band, performing at weddings, private functions, festivals and events.

To do this, we will work on the different tools that we have with each instrument at the level at which each one is. We all know music but many times they make us believe that no, that it is necessary to know how to read and write. That is the graphic part of the language that we will learn little by little, music is a compendium of many other things. Some that we already know and others to know. We will study the use of the keys and the positions of the clarinet, or the sax, the best way to position ourselves whether we play standing or sitting, the most efficient way to use the air, the diaphragm, the muscles. We will learn to form a good embouchure and we will develop a study method adapted to each one, according to their tastes, possibilities and interests. I worked at Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles as an Assistant Professor of Jeroen Van Herzeele the jazz saxophone professor. I graduated at Conservatorio G.Martucci of Salerno (Italy) and had both Bachelor and Master with full marks with honors. During the course of my studies i also spent two academic years abroad , one at the Kask and Conservatorium of Ghent with the supervision of Bart Defoort and one at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles with John Ruocco. In 2017 i won the "Massimo Urbani International Jazz Competition" prize that saw as head of the jury Kurt Rosenwinkel & Fabrizio Bosso. I play in several Jazz bands and I have been performing all around Europe. I recorded a solo album called "Right Now" with the famous Italian label "Philology Records" & the album"Supernova" with my own band. I also recorded several albums with different bands and of many styles, from jazz, funk to pop. Paul was great, I had a fantastic experience. He is very well versed in the art of music and subject of clarinets. He is passionate with music and communicates very well. Knowing my past experience, he set high expectations than I myself set and I found it very motivating. I was given clear objectives after the lesson and a great foundation for improving on my own time. I would definitely recommend Paul for any level of clarinetist out there.

Rob is fantastic - warm, engaging, and patient. My 10-year-old son has been taking a weekly class with Rob for the entire school year. Rob is very responsive and communicative, so scheduling and other logistics have been smooth. He incorporates my son's interests into the lessons while building foundational skills.
