(LIVE or ONLINE!) Piano, improvisation, composition and music theory lessons (Rotterdam)
David
I had previously played some classical for a few years, but was looking to learn jazz piano and improvisation as well. For this David is ideal, as he studied both as a classical and jazz musician, and has a deep understanding of each.
About half the lessons we focus on jazz improvisation. During the lessons I improvise over a few songs, and each session he gives feedback, while adding a new layer of difficulty. We've also worked a lot on rhythm, which has really helped me bridge the gap between classical and jazz.
We spent a few lessons on classical pieces as well, to refine technique and musicality. My playing feels much more fluid and musical already, and he's really helpful/knowledgeable with the details. Also, on the weeks where I did have not had much time to practice, we do a more (jazz) theory oriented lesson, which has also helped alot with my improvisation.
Overall, I only have positive things to say about the lessons! David is a very easy-going teacher, and from the first lesson I felt very comfortable asking him questions. He's very versatile as well, and easily adapts the lesson according to what suits us best that week.

Singing Lessons (Individual) - Pop, Jazz, Soul, Blues, Rock (Amsterdam)
Stefano
Not just a singing teacher, but by the way also the best vocal coach you can get hold of at this moment and in this area of the Netherlands (so take your chance...;-)).
For about 3 years I had a serious problem with my vocal chords (incomplete closure) and a dislocated larynx.
I started to be in contact with Stefano by chance asking him to show me some (singing) exercises additionally to my treatment at the ENT-department of Martini Ziekenhuis Groningen as well as an ongoing therapy at a professional trained speech therapist.
To cut a long story short: Within a couple of lessons and dedicated exercises he succeeded in re-positioning my larynx and got rid of my incomplete vocal cords closure, meanwhile the medical specialists had decided that the only cure could possibly be an operation...
As a ‘side-effect’ I am now able to sing and control my voice like I have never been able before and could never have imagined that this was possible to achieve by just some simple but individually chosen exercises and practice.
Grazie!

Guitar and Improvisation - 18 years of musical experience (Neukölln)
Philip
I've had lessons before but chose Philip to try his wholistic approach. I really enjoyed learning about the neuroscience behind good tuition, and I've found my practice is going much better now. I would recommend this new approach to learning to anyone who is either a beginner or just maybe stuck in a rut like I was. It's the most beneficial learning I've had in a long time. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed with the results. Thanks Phil - I'm looking forward to continuing.
