About Me

I consider my self a music student always aiming to improve my playing developing a personal musical language.I also consider the bass guitar mostly as a "tool with strings", there in order to express my self, so I´m always researching new ways to transcend it while never forgetting what is the role of the bass inside an ensemble.I believe the shapeshifting betweens this two things is the best way to develop a personal unique voice
Considered as one of the most interesting and innovative bass players of the new generation and ex pupil of bass gurus Matthew Garrison and Dominique Di Piazza, Roberto started soon to gain attention in Italy after winning for 2 years in a row the “Italian Bass Contest” in 2002 and 2003 and becoming a finalist of the “European Bass Contest” in 2004.
In the year 2005 he moved to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music where he also joined the ensemble of pianist Joanne Brackeen and formed the Jazz-Fusion band Oddflow together with Hara Garacci and Louis Cato. Oddflow released the album “Almost Even” the following year and started performing all around the east coast.
In 2007 he moved to New York and lived there till 2010, playing in the local Jazz scene and touring as well, during this years he joined the band of avant-garde pop singer and “my space” celebrity Adama, meanwhile he also started a long term musical collaboration with veteran Fusion keyboardist and producer Steve Hunt (Allan Holdsworth, Stanley Clarke, Billy Cobham) which led to Roberto ́s first solo album “Re-Evaluation Time”, published in 2010 under Steve´s reord label “Spice Rack” and featuring Marty Richards and Pablo De Biasi on drums and Steve on keys.
Re-Evaluation Time gained worldwide recognition, being top seller on the Jazz-Fusion online shop “Abstract Logix” it also entered the “top five” in many jazz-oriented music radio charts. In 2010 Roberto moved back to Europe and started establishing himself as a bass player in Berlin, where he´s currently living.
In the following years Roberto started many musical collaboration like the “Silent Jazz Ensemble”, “Reiner Hess Raumshiff jazz”, “Aly Keyta trio” and leading his own trio with Bjössi Klütsch and Marko Djordjevic on drums.
In 2016 he published the debut album of the Band “Beyond Turbines” together with Steve Hunt, Bjössi Klütsch and featuring Virgil Donati on drums.
In 2017 he published his second solo album “Lapse Of Worry” with Seamus Blake on sax, Marko Djordjevic on drums and Bjössi Klütsch on guitar.
In 2018 Roberto played on the Album “Nuova Napoli” by Nu Guinea, he also co-composed the hit song “Disco Sole”.
The album is at the moment a top seller, and with Nu Guinea Roberto toured all around Europe and even Brazil for all the course of 2019.
Roberto musical collaborations brought him to perform all around the world, often with one of his signature 5 or 6 strings basses by Wood& Tronics, as well as Wood&Tronics bass guitars, Roberto is also endorsing Gr Bass amplifiers and Mama Pickups.

George
Guitar tutoring in Berlin for all ages and abilities.
I am an experienced and enthusiastic guitar tutor from Leeds, England, living in Berlin. I have a bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar from Leeds College of Music although I also play and teach rock, pop, funk, folk, and indie music. In lessons, I aim to get students to play something they know as soon as possible in order to get excited about progress early on. We balance this with paying attention to proper technique and having one eye on the theory behind what we are playing to broaden your understanding of how music works. I am actively engaged in playing within the music scene and have a real excitement for all types of music, whether it’s learning your first chords on guitar or working on improvisation or music theory. We'll go at the right pace for you and achieve your goals together. I have experience teaching all ages and abilities of students, having taught in primary and secondary schools as well as private tuition for adults. From complete beginners to preparing a student for their college auditions. Lessons are tailored to suit the needs of the student, in order to have lessons that push you to learn to the best of your ability whilst still being fun and musical.

Improve your musical creativity with personalised classes from multi-Instrumentalist singer and improviser
Do you wish to learn writing music from scratch or improve your composition skills without a necessity of music theory knowledge? Do you want to produce your own music but struggle with the technical aspects? I'm a multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter and performer and I offer applied classes on writing/arranging/producing pieces of music using various instruments of your choice, including your computer. I use a 'learning by creating' method, where we focus and go deeper on certain aspects depending on your needs on your music creation process. I like to use personalised methods that matches your desires, rather than following a certain curriculum. The goal is to help you gain or improve awareness on how a piece of music is written and learn various ways to begin and finalise a writing process. During our practices, I will naturally be transferring my knowledge on certain aspects such as: - Rhythm - Form - Dynamics - Texture - Melody making - Singing - Guitar playing - Placing words into music/making music around words - Improvisation as a compositional tool - Integration of Ableton Live into creative process - Recording - Mixing During the sessions, we'll either write together from scratch or work on your own material and tackle the issues of constructing a piece of music. Please contact me if interested, then we will have a first video call where we get to meet each other and discuss where you stand and your wishes. This way I can create a personalised program that suits your level and speaks to your area of interest.

Francisco
Guitar/Music/Composition Lessons in Berlin (All ages and all levels welcome!)
Hello! Alright, I'll break it down into parts. If you look for a more "narrowed description" just scroll down to where I made a list :) My name is Francisco, and I'm a guitar player from Argentina, currently living in Berlin. I am very enthusiastic about teaching and sharing the energy to grow musically with my students. I have taught music for 7 years in schools and privately at home. With private lessons, my aim is to adjust to the student's likes and abilities. I am attentive to the needs and the reasons why someone is wanting to play and learn music. And I try to encourage the curiosity and spirit of making music and not follow what is "considered" that you should learn. What to expect from the first lesson with me? To get to know each other. That way I see what you like and what you don't, what you already play, and your learning pace. Probably I can share with you something new already, and from there, we will build a "program" according to what you want your rhythm and time availability. I value singularity and I like to get to know who I teach, so that way I can help them better. It can be first chords and ways of learning new songs, improvisational tools, or pure harmony and theory stuff. Because everyone is different, for example, if you like Rock I will go in that direction and teach you the elements that make Rock sound like it does and I won't teach you Jazz Harmony, if you like Classical music we will go over the abilities that you have to have to execute this kind of music, the same goes for the styles that I play. My skills: I play and have played mainly Fingerstyle Guitar, Jazz, Argentine Tango, Jazz Manouche, Rock, Rockabilly, and Experimental. I have worked a lot playing Bossa Nova at some point. I don't like teaching something that I don't know. So for example, oriental music I couldn't teach. And if we come to a point where I am not helpful anymore, I will say so. What I do like is learning with students, it is often the case that your students teach you new ways of thinking about music and I find that super exciting! I was lucky to travel a bit of the world playing music with different projects and musicians that I admire, I always did this playing mainly Jazz music. I have played in bars and clubs and theaters in New York, Boston, Buenos Aires, and in different cities around Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland. I was also part of several orchestras (Jazz, Tango, and Rock) in Argentina and the US. I teach beginner - intermediate - advanced levels of different topics: - how to improve technique (right hand and left hand) - how to improvise (elements of improvisation, vocabulary, phrasing, etc.) - how to visualize the fretboard - how to learn songs by ear, and how to read music (or tab) - how harmony and music theory work - specific genres such as Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Bossa Nova, Tango, Rock, and Fingerstyle. The lessons can be also in German (basic, so you might need a bit of patience with me!), Spanish (that's my mother tongue), or English. They can be at my place (Wedding), all corona safe, or online via Zoom/Skype. Shoot me a message if you are interested! All the best, Francisco
