About Me

Hello, my name is Aba. I am half Dutch, half Ghanaian and have lived in both countries. I have attended an international school my whole life, following the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Therefore, I have a good understanding of the inner workings of the IB. On top of that I am a certified Writing Support Provider. Writing is an important part of the IB regardless of the subject. During my time as a writing support provider I helped students from various IB subjects English, History, Global Politics and even Biology. When I was in the IB, I was not the best at Maths but was too intimidated to ask for help. Therefore, I aim to be an approachable tutor for others. I am experienced, patient and organised. Please don’t hesitate to ask any more questions and hope to hear from you soon :)

History and geopolitics courses in middle and high school
Learn the methodology in dissertation and document analysis from middle school as well as high school. This is what is present in History Geography and in the HGGSP specialty, and I offer courses aimed, in addition to helping the learning of courses in these subjects, to put it into practice in an exercise with a built methodology. It is this methodology that I teach, in order to provide the student with independence. I can also provide homework help in these classes, as well as re-explain and repeat poorly understood course points. As for speaking in public, it is necessary for the oral exams at the end of high school. I have been part of a debate group for 3 years and have acquired a certain mastery there. I am a student in high school, in the final year and I already have experience in helping with homework in my high school. I also chose the HGGSP specialty (geopolitics and political science) in second and I obtained my baccalaureate in this subject.

Art and Politics: companion studies for A level and undergraduate Art History.
The class will chart the development of European, American and International art history from 1900 to the present day, beginning with Post-Impressionism and its off-springs Cubism and Expressionism, the move into Abstraction post-war, to Conceptualism and Minimalism of the 1960s and 1970s which still have significant relevance in today's Contemporary art world. The focus will be on the wider political issues that impacted art history of the time, thereby using art history as a novel and unique lens through which we can gauge world history events, and its politics, in a potentially new and interesting light.
