I am offering 60 minute 1:1 tutoring on National 5 and Higher Modern Studies and History. My method of teaching is to use self-made powerpoint presentations on particular topics, as well as going over and discussing past papers from previously years whilst covering how and why marks were awarded for each answer under the marking scheme provided by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). My preferred method of study is to do so creatively, I enjoy making mind maps and writing practice essays as this is what has worked best for me over time. I aim to establish the best possible teaching method for each individual student and to target this when tutoring. I will also create personalised learning tools to help aid each students needs for their study- this includes power points and follow-up notes after each tutoring session to help jog the students memory and further improve their understanding of the topic covered. I am a hard-working, considerate, and creative individual with a passion for political science and would like to share this with younger students. I enjoy finding new methods of study through experimenting with different techniques- many of which have helped enhance my memory/retention skills in exams setting and subsequently improved my grades across the board. I have experience working with vulnerable individuals such as those with Aspergers Syndrome and Downs Syndrome as well as having a sibling with Autism, and so I'm able to take on board the different challenges faced by those in my community and help to encourage them to reach their full potential. I have great patience and understand that every person comprehends information at a different rate.

Political Theories mainly explore the theories around political structures that make up different societies. Introduction to Political Theories, as the name suggests provides students with explanations and insights into these seemingly overwhelming political theories, enabling one to understand their intricacies and evolution. These classes will prove to be of much use for someone who is just starting a bachelor's degree in political science. Also, students who are interested in International Relations might find these classes useful due to the context of the course being wholly international. The theories can get complicated quickly real soon and these classes will serve the purpose of getting the concepts cleared thoroughly. The classes will cover the following topics: Liberalism and its various forms Socialism and its variants Communism and its developments Feminism and its evolution Understanding the role of theories in historical and contemporary geopolitical conflicts The Liberalism and Communism debates Addressing the Glass Ceiling in Feminism The resources will be provided by me and shall be plenty. Being a scholar myself, there won't be any shortage of subject material to study and understand. Moreover, the classes can be modified to a reasonable extent in accordance with the student's syllabus or requirements. In a world where everyone's political opinions are getting quickly inflated and highlighted through social media, they can also affect mental health to some extent. Then, the only solution that remains is to understand the theories better. All of these billions of opinions are merely versions of the developments of a handful of these political theories. Owing to the nature of the classes they may also be useful for people who are curious about topics such as economics, political science, and history.

Trusted teacher: Hello, I offer one-to-one private tuition to university students and adults in Political Science, Essay/Dissertation-writing, Political Economy, Economics, and European Studies. I have 15 years of experience in high-quality private tuition, and I am also a Lecturer in EU Politics at one of the world’s leading universities (University College London). My main areas of specialization are European Union politics and political economy, but I also regularly teach all other areas of Political Science, including Public Policy, Comparative Politics, Introduction to Politics, Populism, Democratisation, and many more. In addition, I teach Economics at a beginner/intermediate level. I can also help with dissertations and essays, at the undergraduate, Master or Ph.D. level. As I supervise and mark UCL students ' dissertations throughout the year, I am able to give you the marker's perspective and help you ensure that you obtain a top mark. In addition, I am experienced in helping adult learners who want to improve their skills in Political Science or basic Economics, for professional or personal reasons. Teaching is an activity that I deeply enjoy, and for which I have great enthusiasm. I was recently nominated for the Award for Outstanding Teaching by the UCL Students' Union. The feedback which I received from students taught in the past was very positive. In particular, I was told that my teaching had inspired students, and had made complex subjects appear simple and interesting. My approach to teaching is results-focused. I first discuss with the student what are his/her objectives (this may be achieving top marks on a final exam, being able to undertake exercises given as homework, or increasing their understanding of certain aspects of a subject). We then devise together a work plan, to ensure that the student meets those goals. This approach has been very successful in the past, as it is not only important to understand a certain subject, but also to be prepared for the particular type of examination or assessment that the student will need to face. I have a Ph.D. in Political Economy from Utrecht University, a master's in European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, and a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE). I teach either in person in London (ideally at UCL), or via email exchanges for written advice. Unfortunately I do not offer online classes.
