I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. My name is Virág, and I am a Visual Development Artist and Character Designer. I have honed my skills as a 2D illustrator and visual developer, working as both a character and background designer in the Netherlands. There, I contributed to a variety of projects, including music videos, informative animations, promotional videos, and posters. Notably, I worked on animated music videos for Spinning Records and Steve Aoki's '6OKI' animated music video series. While my primary focus is on the cartoon style, I have experience in a diverse range of styles, including corporate, whiteboard animation, realistic, and children's illustration. My journey in drawing began in my childhood, with experiences at places like 'Corvin Drawing & Design School' and 'Secondary School of Visual Arts, Budapest'. In 2019, I completed the Concept Art course at 'Mesharray, Budapest', which set me on the path to my current career. I’m excited to share my expertise on character design for animated clips, highlighting key aspects to consider during the design process, the various styles available, and how it all comes together on screen. Photoshop is used differently for painting and drawing than for photography retouching. I will show you how to use all the tools of the program, but I will also teach you how to think about game art, concept art and illustration, whether it is for character design, creature design, environment design or prop design. I will also teach you all the fundamentals that are essential in the industry, such as anatomy, perspective, colour and light, and composition. After graduating from l'École Émile Cohl with a bachelor specialised in Game Art, I have had the chance of working with more than 15 different studios of video games, board games, trading card games and tabletop RPGs, creating concept art and illustrations for them. Now an Art Teacher, I use my experience and skills both as an artist and as a teacher to share with you all my knowledge of the subject and of the industry.
