I tailor each session especially for you, whether that’s in person or online, offering a safe space to discuss your designs and ideas. I offer an initial complimentary 30 minute call so we can define your individual requirements. The purpose of this call is to also to determine whether we have the right chemistry and will work well together. Following this I create a plan of action for us to help you achieve your goal. Previous work/a portfolio is great to see, if you’re a beginner we can discuss what you’d like to learn and achieve. I am very honest with my approach, and will help you turn your weaknesses into strengths, as well as encouraging you to develop your own unique design style, brand & process (and the confidence to execute!). I will encourage you to think outside the box & realise potential routes to your goal you hadn’t previously considered. My approach is structured, rigorous, and designed to push students to achieve their best. While some may find my method strict, I believe in teaching the rules thoroughly so that you can confidently break them later. What I Offer: Foundational Skills: Strengthen your abilities in line work, value, proportion, perspective, and texture to build a robust technical base. Composition & Framing: Understand how to structure engaging artwork through thoughtful layout, balance, and spatial design. Rigorous Critique: Receive honest, constructive feedback to identify areas for growth and refine your individual hand. While my lessons are technical and follow strict parameters, there is plenty of opportunity for students to choose their own subjects and designs. I also highly recommend my student take excellent notes during my demonstrations and instruction time. I will always share my own notes and sketch journals so the student has a goal in mind. After a section of tuition has been completed (equal to a half term) I examine the notes and give feedback.
