During your one-on-one tutorial I will help assist you with your personal practice by : - Encouraging experimentation, investigation and creative research, resulting in a substantial and successfully resolved body of work - Helping to develop of an enhanced level of applied skills, enabling the clear communication of ideas and research through a discipline or disciplines of choice. - Facilitating a deeper understanding of the wider contexts for practice and research; evidence of an awareness of contemporary practice, exhibitions, seminars and events and a broader cultural framework provided in the supporting work . Trusted teacher: The purpose of classes will be to have fun while improvising and exploring watercolour technique in the context of landscape painting. Classes are available as single workshops or full term of 10 classes. You going to learn how to use different materials and textures for creating painting based on photos. It is designed to teach basic skills and to give you the confidence to enjoy the fascinating medium of watercolour. This course is for anyone interested in learning to paint in watercolour from starch. More experience painters are welcome as well. The aim of the course will be to demonstrate, how a simple straight forward painting method can be an effective way of achieving fresh-looking painting. The participants will learn the main principles of watercolour technique, washes, layering, composition, mixing colours, how to create perspective using tonal value, colour temperature and objects. They will learn how to create interest in the painting fitting up sketches, photographs and still life. learning how to improvise using additional materials as masking fluid, salt, sponge and other is part of the course. At the end of the course participants will go home with many small pieces on paper and one or two completed paintings, depending on desire. Single workshop are variable depending on participant's desire. The topics are how to paint skies, trees, mountains, water and how to combine them together.

My approach is structured, rigorous, and designed to push students to achieve their best. While some may find my method strict, I believe in teaching the rules thoroughly so that you can confidently break them later. What I Offer: Foundational Skills: Strengthen your abilities in line work, value, proportion, perspective, and texture to build a robust technical base. Composition & Framing: Understand how to structure engaging artwork through thoughtful layout, balance, and spatial design. Rigorous Critique: Receive honest, constructive feedback to identify areas for growth and refine your individual hand. Unique Assignments with Clear Goals: Each project is tailored to address specific skills or concepts: contrast, scale, accuracy, perspective, and still life vs narrative-driven styles are just a few examples. While I set high expectations, I also offer the support and tools needed for students to rise to the challenge. After most sessions, I assign homework to be completed by the next class. I certainly expect my younger students especially to complete these assignments. While my lessons are technical and follow strict parameters, there is plenty of opportunity for students to choose their own subjects and designs. I also highly recommend my student take excellent notes during my demonstrations and instruction time. I will always share my own notes and sketch journals so the student has a goal in mind. After a section of tuition has been completed (equal to a half term) I examine the notes and give feedback.
