In this class, you'll learn how to: -Structure stories -Build characters -Write engaging dialogue -Hook readers to the page I can provide story and character consultation and general feedback on your current projects. This is a beginner class. I also offer intermediate and advanced creative writing for those who are looking for more specific feedback and skills. I am a published author and produced screenwriter. This class will introduce you to some building blocks for writing effective poetry. This will focus on imaginative and descriptive aspects of poetry, as opposed to technical and academic aspects. It also works for creative writing in general. However, it will specifically focus on some of the more playful and concise elements of poetry, as opposed to the structure and narrative of prose, for example. There are a lot of barriers and negative preconceptions around poetry which I am to dismantle - building confidence and making poetry feel fun, as opposed to fearful! Enthusiasm is more important to me than academic ability. I also welcome pupils who speak English as an additional language and will try my best to accommodate as many access needs as possible. I am a tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching at a variety of levels from primary school to GCSE level. I provide feedback after every lesson and detailed progress reports every six months for each student. I primarily offer online lessons as I have found this works well for me and my students, but in some cases I do teach face-to-face depending on location and availability within London.
