About Me
I'm a PhD candidate in neuropsycholinguistics and consultant to private clients. My advisory clients include the House of Lords, the NHS, People Primetime International, the Manchester Metropolitan University, Falmouth University, the Emotional Intelligence Academy, the YMCA, the Y Club, the Castelfield Hotel, the National Citizenship Service, Equal Education, etc. My mentoring clients range pre-academic, academic, and professional contexts. My PhD research examines the composite language and communication phenomena of schizophrenia, as relative to figurative language processing, using experimental psycholinguistic methods; my master's dissertation focused on paralinguistics: blended displays (i.e. complex facial expressions) of emotion; and my bachelor's took the form of a stylistics combined honours (i.e. linguistics with creative writing). My vocational experience includes a substantive clinical education post within NHS psychiatric services—specifically, as an interpersonal communications tutor; in parallel, I've provided consultancy services since 2011.Education

In short, put an end to the fear of writing! Isn't it difficult to be consumed by the desire to write your project and not succeed in doing it? Break forever the insurmountable wall that prevents you from writing today.
It is a matter of combining improvements in form with improvements in substance. For this, the sessions can for example take place according to your needs as follows:
a) Comments / proposals on the text that you will offer me b) Writing exercises based on a statement.
c) A series of precise and pragmatic recommendations and their application through style exercises.
Whether it is a novel, an essay, song lyrics, various texts, a biography or simply a report for professional or school purposes, it is about offering you elements personalized pedagogy:
- Study your text
- Build text, song lyrics etc
- Calmly polish the style
- Research and develop your lexical fields
- Differentiate between writing for oneself and writing for others
All this by combining theory and practice: Writing work from exercises then as part of a personal project.
During the sessions, you are guided in your writing project. The trainer accompanies you and teaches you the preparation method, gives you writing tools and helps you work on your style and your imagination.
The objective is multiple, including a reflection on one's own literary path, an introduction to the basic tools of style work and exercises on description.
Learning objectives:
- Identify your writing path.
- Mobilize your imagination.
- Learn and master the practical writing tools.
- Broaden its reflection on creation and professional and personal writing.
- Create and develop one or more projects.
Trained in a European Grande Ecole & Ivy League University in the United States, specialized and has been working in Europe and North America for more than 16 years in this field, in reputable international institutions , also intervening in forums and conferences.
- Locations: Geneva - Lausanne - Friborg - Neuchâtel - Montreux - Basel - Sion - Sierre - Morges - Bienne. But currently and until further notice, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid.
These sessions, for which you have asked me, also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they arouse a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). Indeed, they have the advantage of face-to-face sessions (ex: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (ex: loss of travel time) with additional advantages (ex: the entire session transcribed in writing on the chat). That is why, at your request, I continue to offer this option.
À la carte: evaluated and adapted to each personality.

Creative Writing - Unleashing the Inner StorytellerMy childhood is inextricably linked to the power of stories. The books I devoured, their plots, and characters deeply shaped who I am. This passion followed me to the University of British Columbia, where I majored in Sociology and Creative Writing. While a subsequent career in marketing (both in Canada and Karachi) provided valuable experience, I always felt a yearning for deeper fulfillment. My foray into film production ignited this passion, confirming my true calling as a storyteller and creative. However, it was when I began working with children that I truly found my joy. Guiding young minds, fostering their unique voices, and equipping them with the tools for confident expression – this is my true prerogative. My teaching philosophy centers on cultivating the intangible: a love for creation, expression, and the pursuit of knowledge. I specialize in Personalized Learning Plans, Engaging Activities, Strong Foundational Skills, Confidence Building, Personalized Attention: I am passionate about helping children discover the magic of language and unleash their inner creativity.

Poetry & Creative Writing Classes with LouisaWould you love to write, but don't know where to begin? Perhaps you're already writing or studying English/creative writing, and need a hand? Would you benefit from 1-1, tailored support?
I'm a writer and poet, and my experience of tutoring hundreds of people over the past couple of decades has taught me that anyone can write with the right tools, support and encouragement! We all have experiences we can draw on to express ourselves creatively through the written word. Children, young people, and those experiencing challenges often find writing particularly beneficial and enjoyable. I am here to help inspire new and emerging writers by guiding you through the basics of writing, facilitating a deepened enjoyment and understanding of the power of words, and, importantly, supporting you to have confidence in your unique voice.
These interactive, informal, and supportive online classes are aimed at students of any age (above 7 years) who wish to write poetry, short stories, or creative prose (such as life writing). This includes beginners who are keen to learn basic writing skills, and those with some experience wishing to develop their practice and learn more, including students of English and creative writing at school, college or outside of formal education. Although we will touch on key grammatical terms, the focus will be on your creative expression through the written word.
In these classes, which will be tailored according to age, experience, needs, and areas of interest, students will learn the basics of writing short stories, including flash fiction; poetry, including free verse and traditional forms such as Haiku and sonnets; and creative prose, including life writing or short creative essays. You can attend as many classes as you like, and together, we will build your skills and understanding of creative writing, including identifying the stories you want to tell. The classes will be a mix of presentation, 'warm-up' writing activities, discussion, reading and analysing key texts, main writing activities, and redrafting, editing and proof-reading your work.
For those wishing to get published, there will be additional optional support available, such as detailed editing and mentoring advice, as well as hints and tips on developing as a writer.
Bring what you need to me, and we will shape the classes together!
I hold a recent DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, and parents or guardians of students under 18 years of age are welcome to meet the tutor first, and/or sit in on the classes. I look forward to hearing from you!
