I will make an individual plan with the student, teach writing, pronunciation, characters, phrases, grammar, idioms, everyday language and much more. I will also share my best tips when studying Japanese. I can cover JLPT N5 to N2 levels or assist with your homework. I can teach you: 1) Pronunciation (my pronunciation is good for a foreigner so I can help you have a more natural sounding pronunciation early on because I put effort into it). 2) Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji 3) Beginner and intermediate speaking and vocabulary. 4) Advice on how to improve your Japanese by yourself and which resources and tools to use. 5) Digital flashcards to memorize vocabulary. 6) Correct your mistakes I learned Japanese by myself and moved to Japan where I went to uni for 4 years. By the time I graduated I got certified with the JLPT N1 (highest level) test. After graduation I worked for a top IT company in Tokyo where I used Japanese for work and also did some translation. Therefore I am well aware of the struggles of learning Japanese. I lived in Japan 6 years total and could already speak everyday Japanese from the moment I stepped into Japan (if my learning strategy and preparation worked for me then it must work for you as well!). More about me: Born in 1998, Virginia started learning violin at the age of 3, under the tutelage of under Ms Beedarn Chao and Ms Rosa Lam. In 2013, she attained DipABRSM in violin performance and Grade 8 piano one year later. In 2018, Virginia graduated from King’s College London with a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours), under the sponsorship of the “King’s Hong Kong Scholarships” At KCL, she studied violin with tutors from the Royal Academy of Music - Mr. Nicolas Dupont and Ms Georgia Hannant. She also studied composition with Professor Silvina Milstein, Robert Keeley and Dr. Edward Nesbit. Her works have been performed by UK professional musicians and ensembles such as Clare McCaldin and Lontano Ensemble. Since university, Virginia has been actively teaching primary to form 6 students at King’s St George’s Music Academy (London) and Sevenoaks School, one of the top 5 UK boarding schools. Aiming to branch out in the field of music, Virginia has took up various arts administration and marketing positions in leading ensembles such as the English Music Festival, London City Philharmonic and more since 2016.

Very knowledgeable and well-rounded instructor. Tana is proficient in many different styles and plays very well. Very patient, friendly, and will ask to jam together once the student is familiar with the music. Lots of fun and very educational! Highly recommended
