Practicing classical guitar for 27 years, graduated from the National Conservatory of Limoges, I teach guitar (beginner to advanced levels). My method is distinguished by a perfect combination of high standards and attention paid to the pleasure of playing. Passionate about music theory (rhythms, musical notations and other aspects that seem tedious to many), I know how to transmit this taste for musical technique. The pleasure of play develops when you feel your progress, and these come with regular work. I therefore ask for attendance and regularity of at least 1 hour of practice per day. Depending on the students, the frequency of lessons can be bi-weekly or bi-monthly, and will be defined together, while remaining flexible. I can also advise you on the purchase of a classical guitar. We planned an alternative lesson format for my 9 year old son who is not a traditional learner and can be anxious of new people. Melanie took this in her stride and put my son at ease right from the beginning. The point of the lesson was to increase confidence in speaking French.. Melanie appealed to his interests and made sure the topic was engaging while at the same time being patient with his quirky nature. Melanie has a mature and professional attitude to her tutoring and I would recommend her.

Maxime was very responsive online and we were easily able to setup a time and place, and he was on time for our first class. The class itself was great. He was prepared, and clearly has experience teaching, having cited various methods, and selected one that he felt was most appropriate for my age, interests and level.
