Trusted teacher: Do you want to be musical, rhythmic and groovy? Do you want to learn many instruments in one class? Then percussion is the instrument that you want to learn! I am Keith, 22 years old percussionist from Hong Kong and currently studying classical percussion in the Conservatory van Amsterdam. I have had 2 years of teaching experience and I am offering percussion lessons that meet your need and standard. Percussion includes many instruments, from the one you hear in the orchestra, to African/Latin percussion, or to the pitched keyboard percussion. For beginner, you will learn 2 basic instruments, snare drum and marimba (keyboard instrument). From then, we will not only work on these 2 instruments , but the rest in the percussion family. I also offer drum set lessons for beginner. If you are already a skilled percussionist, I can also offer more advanced lessons, from strengthening your techniques, musicality to conservatory audition preparation. Moreover, I also offer music theory lessons. It will include basic knowledge like recognising notes and rhythm, and also solfedge training, so you will be well equipped for more difficult music playing. We will be covering the fundamentals of IMAGEMAKING, TYPOGRAPHY, SHAPE and COLOR and COMPOSITION. Fundamentals of Imagemaking We are going to look at how images function in terms of conveying denotative and connotative messages, I'll show you a range of analog and digital imagemaking techniques and discuss how they work. Fundamentals of Typography We are going to look at typographic terminology and the basic rules for creating typography. I'll show you a range of tips and techniques for working with type, in both a functional and expressive manner, and you'll find out about the process involved in making and controlling typography. Fundamentals of Shape and Color We are going to look at how designers work with shape and color as their fundamental building blocks. You'll learn about visual contrast, color, rhythm and pattern in design. I'll be showing you the process involved in making an abstract design from shapes, and how to use that element to create a repeating pattern design. Fundamentals of Composition We are going to look at how designers work with visual contrasts, cropping, hierarchy and direction in single images and complex compositions. You'll find out how to control and use scale, weight, direction, texture, and space in a composition, and how to compose work that ranges from the complex to the minimal.
