Trusted teacher: Professional musician, graduated from the Music Academy International with honors. Guitarist especially, bassist from time to time and drummer a little bit.. Dynamic, attentive and passionate, I experience music in all its dimensions. The guitar is an instrument that I love, that I like to make discover and share. No matter your style and your level, I will be there to facilitate its learning, thanks to my desire to transmit, to my patience, I know how to make my students progress so that they take as much pleasure in playing as me! ====== 50% off ====== My organization is approved as a Personal Service. You can benefit from -50% thanks to the tax credit! My method: For beginners, we will try to play as quickly as possible some pieces, riffs and melodies. I will introduce you to chords, different ways of accompanying, in arpeggios, in strumming, with percussions... and rhythm! For intermediates, we can refine your playing by discovering specific guitar techniques: bends, slides, back and forth, sweeping, legato, tapping, string-skipping, chicken-picking, etc. There is plenty to do! 😅 We will further install your sense of rhythm, the true foundation of solid musical expression. I have a simple and infallible method for learning scales, harmony and knowing how to use them. We will start improvisation, this exhilarating feeling of letting go giving an incredible feeling of freedom, to demystify the great masters of the guitar: Hendrix, Django, Gilmour, Knopfler, Stevie Ray, Clapton, Gallagher, Page.. and the one you like! For apprentice shredders, with my technical skills, I will analyze your playing, freeing the blocking points, explore the harmony while refining the implementation because rhythm is music! And for the die-hards there remains: modes, melodious minor, diminished system, augmented, parton, modal harmony, knowing phrasing on different styles, intervals, pairs of triads, playing in arpeggios, jazz and bop, chromatic approaches, enclosures, diatonic, tritonic substitutions, polymodality, modern pentas, changes in flow, visualization of the neck, the CAGED system, the Coltrane Change, Petrucci, Guthie Govan, Paul Gilbert, Yngwie, Greg Howe, Nuno, Tom Quayle, Martin Miller, Matteo Mancuso, Rick Graham, Meshugg, Periph... 😉 I have played a lot, on stage, in the studio, and elsewhere, I could also advise you on equipment and on creating a repertoire. Finally, I have training as a Mix-Master sound engineer, passed at the CFSM under the direction of Nicolas SAFFRAY. We can see creation and mixing techniques specific to MAO if that suits you more. If you like guitar, don't hesitate!

The lessons of instruments and singing last one hour. Whatever the level, they are divided into three parts: - First part (15 minutes), checking the work from the previous course. In the case of a first lesson, discussion about the student's desires and expectations, and if he is not quite a beginner, observation of the work previously carried out in order to assess the level. - Second part (15 minutes), theoretical and rudimentary course (music theory, ear training) with a view to learning a new exercise. The goal is to teach the student theory in a concrete way using their instrument. - Third part (30 minutes), practice of the instrument by refining the previous exercise and understanding the new exercise. The lessons change in content according to the desires and expectations of each student. After knowing these characteristics, the pieces will be chosen by the teacher according to the student. An objective such as a work, a piece or an artist in which the student finds an artistic ideal will be set at the start of learning to give a clear direction to the lessons. Music training courses last one hour. Whatever the level, they are divided into four parts: - First part (15 minutes), checking and correcting the work from the previous course. In the case of the first lesson, presentation and explanation of the purpose of the subject to the student. The goal is to show him the usefulness and pleasure that can be had in practicing this discipline. If he is not quite a beginner, observation of the work previously carried out in order to assess the level. - Second part (15 minutes), reading training through exercises adapted to the class level. Rhythm exercises, reading in rhythm, reading keys, etc... - Third part (15 minutes), ear training through exercises adapted to the class level. Readings and dictations of notes first with instruments (to check) then without as soon as the level is suitable, recognitions and singing of intervals, etc... - Fourth part (15 minutes), singing of a piece implementing the previous exercises. The goal is to assimilate rhythmic precision and accuracy of notes. The lessons change in content according to the desires and expectations of each student. After knowing these characteristics, the pieces will be chosen by the teacher according to the student. The composition lessons last one to two hours. A minimum level of music training and practice is required (approximately 4 years). The lessons are divided into three parts (in the case of a one-hour lesson. If it is two, double the time indicated): - First part (15 minutes), checking and correcting the work from the previous course. In the case of the first lesson, presentation and explanation of the purpose of the subject to the student. The goal is to show him the usefulness and pleasure that can be had in practicing this discipline. If he is not quite a beginner, observation of the work previously carried out in order to assess the level. - Second part (15 minutes), presentation of a work (mainly associated with an image), and study of it by listening and reading the scores. In the case of film music, broadcast of the passage in question and presentation of the context. - Third part (30 minutes), writing exercises on a given theme (period, composer, movement, film, painting, feeling, etc.). At the end of the course, exercises are given based on a theme or work. The lessons change in content according to the desires and expectations of each student. After knowing these characteristics, the pieces will be chosen by the teacher according to the student. Possibility of working in conjunction with the MAO course for the implementation of the exercises.

Trusted teacher: (Important! The schedules are now closing with the students I already have, so it is difficult to specify a definitive schedule for September) Hello! I have been teaching classes continuously for more than 10 years and I would like to explain what you can find in a class with me! - To begin with, the most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I would like to focus the classes according to what you need. For example, we will not put the same level of demand if you want to play for pleasure at home without haste or if you want to do some entrance exams to musical studies (although always with the same good rigor). The needs of each student can vary the methodology, the way of organizing the study sessions, the postural work, the repertoire... - Once we know what we want to achieve and by when, classes will begin in a relaxed atmosphere. Important! Relaxed is not equal to undemanding or rigorous, just that we will try not to resort to military methods, especially given my character and sense of humor ;). - Something important to note is that my methods are very dynamic and with special emphasis on the development of the ear and musicality. No reading, spitting and changing songs. I try to avoid methods that focus too much on the continuous reading of scores without memorizing, listening or understanding what is being done and why, especially so that later you can make your own aesthetic decisions and feel ownership of your performance. Alert! Maybe I'll even make you sing. - Last but not least, it should be noted that given my training (I studied classical music and modern music and jazz at the Taller de Músics) my tendency will be to give the same importance to different types of music. We will adapt to your tastes and needs, but for me we can go from baroque to blues, from blues to Haydn's sonatas, from Haydn to bebop and from bebop to Michael Jackson. Why not? If you like what you have read, do not hesitate to contact me. Learning to play the cello is a pleasure and I would love to share it with you!

David
David is an amazing teacher! He has very well thought out teaching style, focused on improving my technique, and providing clear and practical guidance. I really appreciated his willingness to tailor the lessons to my personal interests and goals. I also asked lots of questions about music theory and music production and he knew it all! I made a lot of progress with him and will definitely contact him for more lessons when I return to Rotterdam. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and friendly piano teacher, I highly recommend David!

Piano and Music Theory lessons with Specialised and Experienced Teacher (Odivelas)
Helena
I came to Helena as a complete beginner with the piano. Though I played other instruments previously, her help on the techniques of the piano was exactly what I was looking for. She has a fantastic grasp of music theory and made those concepts easily understandable to me as well. I highly recommend Helena to anyone who is looking to get a solid foundation with the instrument or music in general.
