1 music composition teacher in Bletchingley

Trusted teacher: My name is Pia, I am a professional harpist-singer, composer and arranger. I have been playing the harp for over 20 years, studied classical music for 10 years and then moved on to other styles and created my own musical projects. I like teaching the harp "otherwise". For beginners, we will start, of course, with the basics of technique. For more advanced harpists, we can explore different styles, approach the rhythmic harp, improvisation, different jazz standards, try arrangements of pieces known to your requests, and even include singing, if you wish :) Schedules will be defined together. Here are some points of my biography -Provision to: Festival Mundial del Arpa in Paraguay; Vancouver Island Music Fest in Canada; Festival Internacional Arpa Sentmenat in Spain, Encuentro International Maestros del Arpa in Colombia, Boston Harp Festival in the United States, Gaume Jazz Festival in Belgium, and many others. -Graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston (2014-> 2017) in jazz harp and from Valencia - Spain (2015) and obtained one of the best scholarships awarded by the school -2017 to 2020: Professional musical life in New York. -Participation in the show The Voice France in the team of Louis Bertignac (2012) -Highly graduated from the Nancy International Music Academy singing, major of his promotion, with special mention unanimously, with the congratulations of the jury (2011) -Winner of many musical competitions, such as the Belgian national competition Dexia "Axion Classic" in 2008 (1st prize), the Ufam competition in Paris, in 2000 (Mention très bien) and 2006 (1st medal), the Felix Godefroid competition in 2003 (1st prize), the Imagine competition in 2009 (1st place), semi-finalist of the Dutch Harp Festival Competition in 2018. -Professor at the Royal Conservatory of Liège, Belgium. Do not hesitate to contact me for any question (s) and / or if you are interested!

Trusted teacher: I offer lessons in guitar/bass, piano/keyboard (classical/experimental/pop/jazz), composition/songwriting, production/recording (DAWs, mixing, editing etc). No matter what level we're on, as musicians and artists we're all part of a wonderful and strange ongoing human project, and I believe that it's my duty to share the knowledge and skills that I've accumulated throughout the course of my life and career. Over the years, my work has branched out in many different stylistic directions but I am firmly rooted in avant-garde/classical music. I hold two degrees in composition: a Master of Music '11 from the Yale School of Music where I also taught undergraduate lessons in composition; and a BA in Music Composition from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden ('09). I've written large scale works for orchestra, chamber pieces, solo music for a variety of instruments, works with multichannel electronics, and works for theater and dance. For those interested, my recorded work is easily accessible online on a variety of labels and my scores are available from Schott Music New York. As a pianist, I began formal training at age 6 and worked through much of the classical repertoire before deciding to focus fulltime on composition. I am also an accomplished studio musician, improviser (jazz/free/experimental), and a member of several groups/ensembles. A firm believer in the use of intuition as a primary tool in music making of all kinds, I would like our lessons to be shaped according to your needs and interests. No matter what level you are on, my goal will always be to offer you exactly what you need at each given step. I treat each student as a unique collaborative effort. Apart from technical and aesthetic approaches, it is usually very difficult and takes a long time to find one's 'voice' as a performer, writer or producer; this is inevitable except in rare cases, and I will endeavour to teach you to trust in your own abilities, overcome insecurities and doubts, and connect your artistic practice with a more unified mindset that goes beyond imagined technical and stylistic limitations and aesthetic policing. The main point is to eradicate unnecessary obstacles to your creativity and learn to trust your intuition and choices.

Gonzalo
Gonzalo is everything I look for in a teacher. He brings tons of enthusiasm for every lesson — he really listens to my goals and brings material to support and guide me to achieve them. He has a great flexibility in the way he teaches, so he can adapt to a wide range of learning styles. Gonzalo is also a fantastic player (as can be seen from his YouTube channel). But most of all, our lessons are great fun and I genuinely look forward to them each week. Book him for a lesson — it will be the best decision you make all year.

Pia
My 8 year old daughter signed up for a singing contest at school with no experience or knowledge in music. We did get in touch with Pia and she was able to give a few singing lessons within a short period of time. Yesterday my daughter performed very successfully in the contest. Pia is not only able to teach singing, she also has the ability to motivate and inspire and she has definitely awaken the interest in music to our daughter. We are very happy that we have met Pia and hope to see her again.

Pavel
Pavel is a great teacher, very professional, friendly and accomodating. Before our first class he proposed a piece that he thought would suit my level and I have made so much progress over only 4 courses with him! Highly recommend!
