Trusted teacher: - Berlin based educator with over 12 years' of experience working as a maths tutor and as a classroom teacher. - I specialise in teaching GCSE Maths as well as GCSE English Literature. - Experience with the IB and with UK school entrance exams. - Experience helping students to transition to the UK system. Particular experience working with young people whose neurodiversity impacts on their learning. I bring a comprehensive understanding of the syllabus requirements, as well as a sensitivity to the needs of students of varying abilities and learning styles. I can offer support alongside the student's schooling, or can design a full homeschooling course. Classes can be online, in person or hybrid. I have a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford and an MFA in Creative Writing from St Andrews. Before becoming a tutor and teacher I worked as a government economics advisor, specialising in Education Policy. I have taught at Brookways School, Sutton; The Sultan's School, Muscat; and worked as supply staff at various schools across London. Oustide of teaching, I am a poet, theatre maker, facilitator and play therapist. This helps me to keep lessons engaging and fun. My teaching begins with a good relationship with the student. I also offer classes in drama and creative writing, to adults as well as young people. Selected Case Studies: O (16) and A (14) 2021-2022 (Maths and English GCSE) I home schooled O for one academic year, working on English and Maths GCSE. O has ASD and needed to work with a tutor with experience adapting to his particular learning needs. I worked with O for 12 hours each week. The role required adaptability to the family's schedules and O's varying ability to engage with the work. I now work with O's sister A on maths. A was 14 when we worked together and I was able to help her to plug gaps in her maths knowledge. Zoe (15-16) 2021-2023 (English GCSE) "Sean has been tutoring my daughter for 1.5 years. He engaged well with Zoe who found him inspiring and fun to work with. Sean is thoughtful and diligent, he understood the challenges she is facing with creative writing and constructed the lessons to suit her needs. He was also willing to change the content of a class and adapt to her requests at times that she was struggling to follow up. We feel very lucky to have had Sean supporting Zoe for her GCSE creative writing and would certainly recommend him to other families." (Athina, mother) Bert (15-16) 2021-2022 (Maths and English GCSE) "I would not hesitate to recommend Sean, who tutored my son Bert throughout his GCSEs to success. Bert, who is dyslexic also struggles with ADHD, he's not a natural student and struggles to engage. Sean showed outstanding compassion, rigour and tenacity around getting Bert on task, giving him context of the syllabus and supporting his learning. Sean is kind, thoughtful and holds a firm bar on what is expected/needed from his students. For Bert this worked super well, fostering a relationship of mutual respect. We enjoyed to have Sean stay with us during various holidays and he was flexible in his plans to accommodate different needs and locations. Sean is a great tutor and a really lovely guy and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him." (Rachel, mother)

Trusted teacher: By PROFESSOR & PROFESSIONAL COACH Hello, First and foremost, I would like to wish you a warm welcome back to school and a peaceful year ahead as you work towards your goals. I am aware that the economic situation can sometimes be challenging, which is why I offer my services to accompany your child throughout their academic journey with ease and serenity. Throughout my career as a Graduate Teacher and Graduate Professional Coach, I have worked in various contexts. Until last year, I taught in front of whole classes as well as in private lessons. Since this year, I have been providing face-to-face private lessons at home and also via video conferencing, a mode of teaching that I have practiced with university students for the past ten years. My teaching environment has undergone significant changes, especially with the emergence of the Covid pandemic. This shift has led our secondary school students to adapt to the new mode of learning and communication, namely video conferencing. Despite the success of this transition, it is important to acknowledge that our younger students still require attention and a psycho-emotional connection in order to develop their autonomy peacefully. Over the past two decades, I have implemented proven methodological approaches, some of which are borrowed from theater techniques, such as the Davis method (mind mappings/colors), and my specialty, professional coaching, which aims to enhance your child's motivation. My main goal is to foster agility in your child across all subjects, not only for the present but also for their future when I will no longer be by their side. Ultimately, my objective goes beyond simply focusing on gaining points in a subject. I firmly believe in this approach due to my experience as a Mental Coach working with young athletes between Nice and Cannes, as well as throughout Europe via video conferencing, as part of their preparation for the French Tennis Championships. It has reinforced my conviction that working on a subject should be a nurtured objective that encompasses personal growth and development. As a Professor in General Education, specializing mainly in scientific subjects, I suggest supporting your child in gaining agility in constructing their academic path during this unique period that is filled with both opportunities and challenges. Looking forward to meeting you soon, Corinne. Trusted teacher: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Having studied for 4 years at the École Normale Supérieure (Paris) after 2 preparatory years (MPSI / MP*) at Lycée Louis Le Grand (Paris), I have been providing private lessons at the higher education level for the past 5 years, during which I have improved my pedagogy and communication skills. My Methodology: My goal is to instill a passion for mathematics by making them more concrete and understandable. All of this will be done in a friendly and humble environment 😉 Included in the Price: High-quality lessons Availability outside of sessions to answer questions or address doubts For online sessions, I provide detailed notes after the session, so there's no need to take notes. Trusted teacher: Math lessons: Support + Coaching + Methodology = SUCCESS 🚀✨ What if we gave more meaning to mathematics 😉? The loss of meaning (or even logic) and interest, the feeling of feeling overwhelmed and discouraged by the lessons... it's a feeling that many people have experienced when learning math! My own experience of these difficulties made me want to help learners find pleasure in their study journey. After obtaining an engineering degree, life led me to question the learning process itself. I then became passionate about neuroscience (in addition to personal development in general) and have helped more than 50 students at home and online in recent years. 🌻 Why choose my support? - My experience as a student: it is easier to put yourself in the shoes of a student who has difficulties when you can say “I've been there”. Indeed, it is my student journey that allowed me to understand the challenges of learning and how to get out of it! - An adapted approach: thanks to my sensitivity for psychology and my experience in tutoring, I know how to adapt to the person in front of me. Depending on his emotions/beliefs or his personality, I adapt my speech, the objectives and the organization of the lessons. - A knowledge of the functioning of the brain: Self-taught and passionate about neuroscience, I support learners on scientifically validated techniques and I bring understanding to our learning processes. - Certification in neuroscience: By 2024, I will be certified as a practitioner in neuroscience by Dr. Mario BEAUREGARD, Canadian neuroscientist emeritus. This training allows me to support learners on their potential but also to change their visions of themselves through recognized studies in neuroscience. - “Local” virtual support: Some people consider online courses to be impersonal. Through my support, I accompany the learners before and AFTER the lessons. Although the lesson time is important, the before/after is just as important. So I set up monitoring and support tools. Technology is good 🙂 - Schedule flexibility: In general, face-to-face courses do not allow you to choose a “last-minute” course. I offer my students slots every day between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (French time). This gives them time to settle down after the study day before resuming homework/classes or even to have a class before a surprise quiz the next day! 🌻 Why teaching? I need to feel useful. Through teaching, I help students of all ages regain confidence and better understand themselves in order to perform and have fun. From my experience, I like to transmit what I would have liked to have on my way. 🌻 My study background After a Scientific Baccalaureate in France (CEGEP for Quebec), I turned to a Preparatory Class for the Grandes Ecoles (CPGE also called Maths sup/Maths spé). Over these 2 years, the school level required a square organization to pass the entrance exams to engineering school. This is when my thoughts on methodology began. I then obtained an engineering degree in France in Industrial Engineering. Homeschooling allowed me to make ends meet during my studies. I then established my practice and my own teaching methodology before leaving for Canada in September 2021 and making this dream come true! 🌻 My favorite mantra? “Be the change you want to see in the world” by our dear Gandhi 🙂 🌻 My favorite subject? Functions ; because we can juggle with many other mathematics chapters and subjects Methodology ; whether it is providing the student with relevant support or proposing innovative ideas so that he or she takes pleasure in studying! 🌻 How classes work - My lessons are based on 3 points: Adaptation, Follow-up and Pleasure - We make a first call to get an idea of the objectives, the challenges, the learning context - The first lesson is used to understand each other, to create an atmosphere where the student will feel confident to express their difficulties/emotions. Depending on the subject, I do a first test on the basics of mathematics. - Secondly, I create your digital collaboration space and we plan a first action plan with the next courses. (With some exceptions, I always give exercises to rework what has been seen together) - I can be reached every day of the week for questions and advice - Have access to: Whatsapp, Google Drive and Google Meet 🌻 Class schedule Currently in Canada, I am available from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. (French time)! I can be reached every day and I offer last-minute slots every day.

Julien
Julien helped me learn the material for my university statistics exams. He was very patient and gave very clear explanations about the concepts we were discussing. He was friendly, enthusiastic and encouraging. He prepared material in advance for each lesson depending on my personal needs. I'm pleased to say he helped me succeed in my final exams despite the fact that I'd never really studied statistics before! I am very glad I chose him as my tutor and I recommend him to anyone else seeking mathematics or statistics tutoring, whether in person or remotely.

ORAL PREPARATION 🗣️ WRITTEN ✍ PATENT 🎓 BACCALAUREATE by PROFESSOR of Higher & Secondary and PROFESSIONAL COACH Orientation COMMUNICATION (Vence)
Corinne
Corinne is helping my daughter to prepare for her oral exam for the European Baccalaureate (French as a second language). She is very professional, well organized and very kind! She is also very flexible, as we had to postpone and reschedule a couple of times. But most importantly, my daughter says that she can see Corinne’s passion for language and text, so that makes the tutoring more fun. Corinne also takes notes during the lessons and sends them to my daughter afterwards: great! PS: my daughter received now a 10/10 for her final French oral exam!

Rudi
Rudi assisted my 15 year old son with Geometry on two occasions now. Strong points are as following: very well organised, good command of the subject, very efficient with time, which is not trivial. Well set up for online lessons. Rudi is not big on small / pep talk which may put off some people but my son finds Rudi very helpful. I would recommend for young / older teens who have at least basic independent study skills.
