I try to determine which method is best for a topic or content area (e.g., direct instruction, cooperative learning, debate, discussion, grouping, or simulation), and I also reference current research on effective teaching strategies. e.g. I would create space for brainstorming and encourage friendly discussions. Discussions enrich lessons by getting students to actively engage with a topic and their opinions on it, listen to others and critically reflect on what they have heard, and develop a good conversational culture. It also helps them to be inspired by each other's ideas. I would also add more color to the classroom to make the learning experience more colorful and fun. Humor is essential to creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, so I use pop culture references, puns, tasteful jokes, and more to add a touch of fun to my lessons. I would motivate my students with recognition and awards. When positive achievements are recognized, it motivates them to continue doing good work.
