This course emphasizes the fundamental language skills of reading, writing, speaking, listening, thinking, viewing and presenting. An emphasis on vocabulary and composition skills will be an ongoing part of the program. Students will engage in active speaking which emphasizes the development of fluency and intelligibility in spoken English. Students develop vocabulary and reading strategies required to comprehend academic textbooks and literature in various fields of study.
