Why learn computer programming? Programming encourages creativity, reasoning, and problem solving. The programmer has the opportunity to create something from scratch, use logic to transform programming constructs into a form that the computer can execute, and when things don't go quite as planned, use their problem-solving skills to figure out what's wrong.
