About the course I offer Oud and/or Bouzouki lessons, we will approach, in a progressive and fun way, the different essential instrumental techniques (tremolo, back and forth, vibrato, hammer...) to discover the Arabic, Turkish, Greek repertoire ( rebetiko, laiko), Sephardic... we will learn the different Arabic “makams” or Greek “dromos” from Ottoman and Byzantine music, as well as the traditional even and odd rhythms associated with these musics. We will also approach improvisation , the art of taqsim. For beginners we will see the basic skills: tuning the instrument, changing the strings, postures, etc. Most of the transmission I received is oral so it is not necessary to know how to read scores, but possibility of working on scores if desired.
