If teacher wants his student understand material, so student has to trust him. Trust - what makes my students having better grades at school and understand math. I always explain difficult things with simple words. Show children where math is in their life and why it's important to know it. All of my students are having much higher grades after first test. The hardest case: boy 7th grade came with zero knowledge of math. It's now 2 years since we are working and his grade is 8 (В) now. Cooperation with parents is really important for me, so we are always in touch. And children have to understand that it's all depends of them. I'm not magician, I can't teach someone who doesn't want to. But after 9 years teaching, I think some magic tricks I know, even if students don't want math.
