Economics is part of the “social sciences” or “soft sciences” (as opposed to the “hard sciences” such as physics and mathematics, for example). Since its existence, the economy has not had a "recipe": since the 18th century it has in fact not solved major problems; nor does it have a "theory" adopted by all economists.
