Get acquainted with basic to intermediate Economic theories 5. Confidently present your ideas 6. Connect far off historical events to your local culture

Economics is divided into two broad fields: Macroeconomics: Economics relating to national economies and the policies that effect ALL markets Microeconomics: Economics relating to business to business interactions, oftentimes at the scale of one to a handful of markets. The study of these fields introduces a lot of models and theories that form the foundation of any advanced education in Economics, as well as a functional understanding of economic theory and policy. Oftentimes, Politicians will misrepresent policies as more economically harmful/beneficial than what the prevailing literature would suggest. This course will help you be a more informed citizen of your economy, as well as go over important theories and concepts such as: 1. Types of competition in markets 2. Comparative advantage 3. Price Floors/Ceilings and their effects on a market 4.
