I start working with students by doing a needs analysis, asking some basic questions and testing their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, to determine a student's proficiency level, language background, needs, interests, the critical skills that need improvement. After that, I begin planning lessons for my students based on their needs and interests. Each lesson is usually centered around a specific topic my students need or want to study and a grammar point.
