The way I work is to help you solve your most pressing and confusing issues during our class, then give you a short lesson to help you understand better what to do next time, and then leave you with some homework tasks you can do in your own time to progress your project - this saves you money and gives you a better competency result! I have a 3D printer, a metalworking shop, and all the benchtop tools we might need to develop your projects, as well as some generic arduinos, breadboards, and passive components - all you need to provide is (some of) the specific materials for your project.
