These classes are designed to equip students of composition with the confidence they need to develop their own unique musical voice. Technical exercises are set to nurture a deeper understanding of instrumentation/texture, harmony, melody, rhythm and structure. The classes also encourage the student to consider the connection between musical and extra-musical ideas and to explore different approaches and starting points. Work is set and feedback is given on all work sent before the day of a lesson.
