Here's what you can expect from our conversation classes: ⭐ A pleasant and engaging conversation where I ask you many questions on a topic of your choice. ⭐ A shared Google Doc where I record your mistakes and corrections (you decide if you want the corrections immediately or at the end of the class). ⭐ A topic and questions will be sent to you before the class starts so you can prepare if you wish. You can choose the topic or ask me to do it. I have many resources available (for example, I will send you a news article, YouTube video, and/or blog, along with 4-10 prepared questions that I will then ask you in class). We can also have a "free conversation" class where we talk about whatever you're feeling like that day. I previously was a primary school teacher of all subjects (Grades 1&2) for a private international school in Dubai. I am familiar with international school curriculum and challenges faced by students when moving to a new country. I have extensive experience with students of all learning levels. I have been privately tutoring for over 10 years now. English is my first language (I am American). I also have experience tutoring at a higher age (as well as university level). I am an excellent writer, editor, and researcher and work part time in UVA's graduate school in the sociology department. I completed my MSc at UVA and undergraduate at UCLA. We had our first session a few days ago, with Alessandra tutoring my 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter, developing their reading and writing in English and their mathematics. Public speaking classes with Jay were top-notch! Even though we held the classes online, he has the rare ability to make you feel at ease in a second and I felt fully engaged. Jay covered a variety of subjects regarding tone, speed, volume, pronunciation, etc. with different exercises.
