I have been teaching Turkish to foreigners and I have taught hundreds of students from all ages and professions for more than 20 years. I am a professional English teacher but I like teaching Turkish more as it is my mother tongue and it is a great pleasure for me to share its secrets and beauty. While teaching I also love giving some useful information about the culture, people, cuisine, films and literature in Turkey to help you get connected to Turkish culture. I prepare written and verbal dialogues in the areas the student is interested in. I am from Istanbul but I traveled almost all cities, mountains, rivers, lakes in Turkey. I am a person who likes less traveled roads and back streets. Traveling around the world and reading on the areas of spirituality, philosophy, psychology, and literature are my number one hobbies. I can teach at my place and your place (all around Istanbul). I use several books using a grammar-based approach integrated with communicative methods to boost the development of all language skills. But we always focus on TALK, TALK, TALK. As a language learner for many years, I know one can learn, improve and take pleasure in a foreign language only by talking and communicating. It is essential to get direct pleasure from what you have learned. My aim is to motivate and inspire you to speak Turkish ignoring minor mistakes and without thinking grammar. I try to keep in contact with my students almost every day through whatsapp and email. And start some short dialogues.

Mathematics classes for beginners and intermediate level (Gouda)

I need to re-study 4 years of high school maths in only 5 months. Mahmood agreed to help me with this difficult task and thanks to his professional way of teaching I believe I can make this happen. He explains topics in detail and yet quickly enough to spare time for other topics. If you are unsure he points you to the right direction. Most important thing for me was that he made me realize that I first need to master concept #1 in order to be able to later master concept #5 and so on. You can see that he has a lot of teaching experience, he tries to understand the way YOU think and based on that he serves you clear explanation for topics you struggle to understand. I definitely recommend him as your next teacher!

We’ve had two in-person sessions with Hatice so far and they have been excellent. Her classes are engaging and accessible to students of different levels. In a class, she is very skilled at offering depth for someone who has some turkish understanding as well as being accessible to a beginner. I hope to continue a mix of online and in person lessons with her!
