Trusted teacher: I am a professional London based drummer, music teacher and music producer with over 25 years of teaching and performing experience including international tours, recording work in Abbey Rd and Shepparton Studios and numerous television and radio performances. I teach all styles including rock, jazz, funk, latin, metal (inc double pedal technique) and reggae. I have also taught to all levels including complete beginners and all ages upwards from 4. When you learn with me you will learn the proper and correct methods and techniques as used by the best drummers in the world- all in a friendly and professional environment! I also teach music theory to GCSE level, piano/keys to intermediate/advanced level and I now offer lessons in music production/technology. A little bit more about myself... I hail from a strong family background of music, my parents both being professional classical musicians. After attending the world renowned West Australian Conservatorium of Music and studying Drums, Piano and Vocals first on the Certificate of Music and then Associate Diploma of Performing Arts jazz courses I have played over 1,500 gigs internationally including tours of Germany and Australia, gigs and residencies in Spain and Singapore and performances all over the UK. I have recorded in top studios including Abbey Rd and Shepperton as well as performing for television and radio on numerous occasions I have over 25 years experience teaching drums to all ages from beginners to advanced/pro/signed artist level as well as music theory and beginner/intermediate keys. I now offer lessons in music production/technology as well. Other notable experience of mine includes presenting a televised workshop on jazz music for primary school children for the TEN network Australia (Kids Company 1991) and I have also played drums on TV commercials including one for Snickers in 2015 that was filmed in Shepperton Studios and shown in the USA and South America. I record and produce for both independent artists and labels from my studio in Central London.

If you like a certain style, we will focus on it and develop your playing towards your taste. I've been playing, teaching and studying drums for over 15 years now. I take it very seriously and try to tailor my teaching to every student that I have. I can use my experience as a proffecional musician to make you progress fast and focus on things not every teacher knows from books. In this course we will focus on technique as well as creativity and improvisation (one of the most enjoyable aspects of playing drums). Do you have any other percussion instrument you'd like to expand your knowledge on? I can offer you percussion lessons as well since I have a lot of experience in playing percussion as well. If you want to study with me I can provide a stable program for development for fast results including scores, exercises, etc. About me: As well as teaching, I'm mainly a performer of music - I've been playing drums with different bands as well as classical percussion for more than 15 years now in many different settings. Trusted teacher: Hello! I'm Nina, a drummer from Amsterdam. I am currently studying pop/rock drums at the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht. I play in 2 bands. I also play in many different session projects (from pop to rock). I work a lot with hybrid drums (triggers and SPD) and also teach them with Ableton. The studio is located in the Q-Factory in Amsterdam with two professional drum kits and sound system. In addition, I can occasionally offer a lesson in Utrecht! If all this is too far or for some other reason not reachable, lessons at home and / or online are also possible! We can work on, among other things: - Hand technique (how do I hold my sticks? Or which stick technique do I use for different music styles?) Creativity (how can I ultimately make cool parts on the drums myself? Or different parts than what you initially came up with?) - Improvisation (lots of playing and trying!) - Timing (playing along with songs, with click tracks, how can I become more playful with the click?) - Relaxed posture - Drum notation (learning to read drum notes) - New fills, grooves and beats - Sound (how do I tune my drums? which drum sound do I want for different types of music?) - Hybrid drums (working with samples on the SPD and/or triggers) in combination with Ableton And of course we will play along to your favorite songs a lot! I especially hope that I can create lessons together with you that match what you like and what you would like to learn. All levels and ages are welcome!
