Mandarin Chinese is an official language not only spoken in China but in various other places in South and East Asia. Often designated as the language of the future thanks to China's growing economic influence in globalization and its large population, learning Chinese can also be frightening given the many preconceptions and the completely different nature of this foreign language. However, it is not impossible to succeed in communicating in a more or less fluid way, depending on the level sought, or even to master so-called complex points of this language. More and more middle and high schools are offering LV2 or LV3 Chinese courses to their students and many exchange programs in China are also looking for foreign students. I myself have learned and still learn Chinese in three different ways: in high school in LV3 then in LV2, by myself in independent study, and in China in total immersion. Currently in license of Chinese literature and civilization at the university and not having grown up in a Sinophone or Sinophile environment, I would be happy to share my learning methods and my knowledge with other curious and interested. Currently having a B2 level and received 20/20 in the LV2 Chinese test in the 2019 baccalaureate, I think I am able to give introductory courses in Mandarin to great beginners, or give support courses at levels ranging from LV3 (level A2 expected in the baccalaureate) to LV2 (level B1 expected in the baccalaureate). Being myself still in apprenticeship, I cannot guarantee optimal training at higher levels and will advise you to turn to more qualified and experienced teachers than me. On the other hand, if you are looking to understand the basics and adopt a methodology adopted for French-speaking natives, here you are at the right door.
