For example, if a student is looking to improve technique, I would use Schroeder, Popper, Piatti... etude books... and tailor the exercises to the student's ability. However, if a student is simply preparing for an audition or recital of some sort perhaps a specific method is not necessary, and all they require is a practice coach. If a student is closer to the beginning of their cello journey and is unsure of their next steps, I find the Suzuki method to be the most straightforward and effective.
