I am a tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching at a variety of levels from primary school to GCSE level. I teach English Language, English Literature, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), Maths, and Creative Writing. I have taught students both in person and remotely, planning lessons using virtual presentations, activities and resources both in the UK and abroad. I believe the most successful results come from fostering a friendship with my students, and providing constant encouragement and support in their areas of interest. I pride myself on being an attentive listener and carefully adapt to the specific needs of my students, which is particularly helpful for my SEN and ESOL pupils. I have previously volunteered as a mentor with charities such as Al Muntaha Tutoring and Debate Mate, providing mentorship, relevant advice, and support to young people. At the beginning of every lesson I also do short icebreaker activities and challenges with my students, using a points reward system to keep them engaged. Previous students have gone on to become the top of their class and receive recognition at school for both English and Maths. Lessons start at 1 hour in length, with longer lessons available if required. Lessons are structured according to the needs of the student; this can be working alongside their class syllabus to support them with progress at school, tackling an area or subject they are specifically struggling with, or helping them prepare for national exams such as GCSEs. I provide feedback after every lesson and detailed progress reports every six months for each student. I primarily offer online lessons as I have found this works well for me and my students, but in some cases I do teach face-to-face depending on location and availability within London. Wolof is the most spoken language in Senegal, Gambia where it has been enriched by the contributions of other dialects, Arabic and French, which remains the official language. It is experiencing a cultural expansion in the country and is also present in Gambia and Mauritania. So to facilitate your integration into Senegalese society; it is essential to go through this language because it is the vernacular although there are several beautiful local Senegalese languages ​​but Wolof remains the most used language. this is why I propose to teach the beauty of this language which is my specialty and my mother tongue, I also teach Senegalese and Gambian culture and civilization. Learning Wolof offers anyone who wishes to get to know Senegal, in a professional, cultural or touristic context, to establish privileged contact with its population. My method is very simple, I start by teaching you the most common and used words and expressions. Thanks to my very simple and effective teaching methodology, the student can manage to form sentences in Wolof very easily from our first lesson. Very clear as to what his teaching methods and goals are, how he'll help you get there - then jumps right in and gets you started with no fuss. I found myself speaking sentences in Wolof by the end of the lesson, and really appreciate the additional written material he supplied as well. As someone who has taught and learned various other languages I can tell that Dembane has a really sound methodology. I'll add to this review in a few months time, but so far I am impressed. Also glad that he is pointing out regional differences between Senegal and Gambia usage to me, as it's relevant to my learning needs. He does personalise the content for the individual student, which is good to see.

Hajra
The first lesson with Hajra went very well and my 11 years old daughter did immediately connect with her. She was able to make the learning enjoyable and interactive, which gave my daughter a good feeling. This is very important as my daughter need an emotional connection to feel comfortable asking questions and keep motivated. Hajra also seem experienced, competent and knowledgeable. I have high hopes for the future lessons...thanks!
