My prime aim is to provide tuition that is designed specifically for you! During the initial consultation we will establish your learning needs, identify your preferred learning style, and set a starting point. I will then compile a training plan with clearly defined SMART goals, session aims, timescale, and a proposed number of sessions. Each session is one hour long; so you are in control of both pace and price. Topics covered for structured courses will depend mostly on you and your needs, but typically may comprise any of the following: - The elements of art - The principles of art - The creative process - Recording and documenting research - Art techniques - Visual techniques - Art history - Movements and genres - Influential artists (past and present) - Application of the foundations of art - Art medium - Digital art - Storyboarding - Preparing and presenting finished work Alternatively, topics can be formulated based on the initial needs analysis. I can help provide extra tuition to students working towards GCSE, A-Level, and Higher Education courses in Art, Art and Design, and/or similar topics. *If you're a student, my courses can be matched against specific curriculum models. You should first consult with your school/college to find out who the awarding body is for your exam, prior to starting ANY extra private tuition. **I can also help around exam preparation, especially around coping strategies with exam-related anxiety and stress.

Fine Art can be a confusing, and often inaccessible subject. However, creating and engaging with art can also be empowering once you have the understanding of contemporary art practises. It is my intention to engage both children and adults in creative play, and discussion, to create exciting lessons. Lessons will often be tailored towards the individual's interests, linking them to relevant artists and artistic practises. A wide range of materials and processes will be explored in the lessons, including painting, drawing, sculpture and digital art, allowing students to find their strengths. As a Fine Art and History of Art graduate it truly is my passion to ignite, distill, and grow a person's interests in Art, Design and Art History. I have experience in creating and teaching lessons for students of all ages, from 4 years of age up to adults. I also have experience tutoring GCSE and A-level students in the trickier aspects of a Fine Art qualification, where jumping through the hoops and tick the boxes that the exam boards require can often take the joy out of creating. My aim is to help students get the grade that truly reflects their engagement and enthusiasm for art, guiding them through the certain requirements that can often feel confusing or frustrating. Whatever level of understanding and ability the student may have, these lessons will be challenging, creative and rewarding.
