I personally love many different types of music from around the world but my favourite styles to play are Jazz/Soul and Latin music. I have been singing since I can remember and understood the importance of playing instruments from a very young age. I feel fortunate to have been able to work on my musical skills through leading and playing in many different bands, performing in bars and different events and recording with some pretty cool people. Personally, I think it helps to learn and practice songs that you like because it motivates and speeds up the learning process. I am happy to suggest some songs that would suit your style as we go. I'm very flexible when it comes to the lesson. I like to personalize them to your goals and needs, from which I create specific exercises for listening, rhythm, technique and music theory (which can seem unapproachable at first) I have seen my students grow through ups and downs through putting in time. Key is showing up to the lessons, from there you are already growing. I strongly believe music is a universal language that can be learned and enjoyed by everyone, as long as they put their mind to it. I'd be more than happy to guide you through some of your musical journey and have you be part of mine too.

Do you get hoarseness, pain or discomfort after singing a couple of songs? I completely understand you because I have had some of these problems in the past and I know how frustrating it is, but now I am here to help you. I am Nina, vocal coach and singer and I welcome you. My job as a vocal coach is to accompany you and guide you so that you find your voice and get the most out of it. We will do this with the help of technique, vocal coaching and interpretation, so that you can find your personal style and the ease you need to practice healthy, responsible singing at a good level. My program is based on the Modern Vocal Training and Estill Voice (Voicecraft) methods. Now, who are these classes for? If you sing at concerts, in church, on Youtube, on Tiktok or in the shower, you are welcome. It's never too late to learn to sing so age is not a limitation. Neither is the time you've been singing with habits that may not be the best. You can always choose the path of healthy singing, which will give you a more satisfying and lasting vocal (singing) experience. I try to make the classes as specialized as possible, because not all my students arrive with the same level or with the same goals. The class is divided into two parts: - Vocal technique (warm-up and vocalizations). - Work on a song you like (applying technique and interpretation). In addition, I provide you with the necessary exercises so that you can practice at home and achieve the progress you are looking for. Trusted teacher: The present course is tutored by a Classical Singer and a Classical Pianist, both study connected to the Royal Conservatory Den Haag. It is preferred to work weekly to optimize results. The singing, and main teacher, is always present to assure the vocal progression. The piano coach will be present as often as requested by the student/advised by the teacher. The pupils will then have the best piano accompaniment. The main objective of the course is to work accordingly with the student's goals to give a well-driven direction to our study. The course it's thought with classic technical basics (healthy vocal benefits) but other styles can be added like the musical, jazz, cabaret, etc... Each case will have a personalized answer. The teachers' connection to the Royal Conservatory also ensures that complex problems can be solved by asking the highest experts. > Lesson structure: ✓ The lessons start with body/posture awareness, movement and breathing exercises followed by an individual set of vocalizes that may incorporate some scales, cords and/or improvisation. ✓ After the warm-up, depending on the student's level and goals, some song methods may fallow and/or the repertoire on which we decided to work. ✓ While working on the pieces several kinds of information will be provided: • The Anatomy of the Voice (body, breathing, vocal cord, resonances, prevention and counseling about vocal disorders); • Language and Phonetic knowledge of Italian, French, German, English, Spanish and Portuguese (+ strategies to enable singing in other languages). • Vocal Interpretation, phrase, prosody, colors, coordination with the piano and tools how to personalize the 'message', among others based on appropriate bibliography; • Drama basics, stage preparation, and fright avoidance strategies. • Music Theory and History in order to understand the pieces more deeply through a quick analysis, period and style. ✓ At the end of each season (non-mandatory) public auditions can be arranged whenever an artistic space would be willing to receive great voices and repertoire. I started as a complete beginner and not being really confident about my voice. Nonetheless, Filipe made me feel at ease from the very first lesson. Filipe is really motivating and he conveys his passion for singing during every class, which always makes me feel stronger and reenergized. Also, while he lets you practice and work together on the songs you love, he is very professional and provides guidance in every technical aspect of singing, from breath support and articulation, to finding resonances within your body, as well as how to mentally approach a song.
