Trusted teacher: My English class is designed for a diverse group of students, encompassing general learners, those preparing for the IELTS / OET exam, and young learners, I follow a multifaceted approach. The overarching goal is to cultivate proficiency in the four fundamental language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. For general students, the curriculum concentrates on building a solid foundation in grammar, vocabulary, and effective communication. Varied texts and writing exercises are employed to enhance reading and writing abilities, while classroom discussions and oral activities bolster speaking and listening skills. In the context of IELTS or OET Exam preparation, the focus shifts to refining techniques specific to the exams. This involves honing academic writing skills, practicing time management for reading passages, and developing strategies for the speaking and listening components. The class becomes a dynamic space where students not only expand their language capabilities but also acquire the tools necessary for success in the IELTS /OET examinations. For young learners, the emphasis is on creating a lively and interactive environment. Storytelling, games, and creative exercises are integrated to make language acquisition an enjoyable process. Cultural elements are woven into the lessons to provide a holistic understanding of English language, making the learning experience both educational and entertaining. In essence, my English class caters to the diverse needs of my students, fostering a comprehensive and engaging approach to language acquisition for learners of varying ages and proficiency levels. Get in touch with me and let's discuss your language goal. Book your English learning class with me today.

Setswana is a rich, rhythmic language spoken in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Belonging to the Bantu family, it closely resembles other languages in the region. I have found learning Setswana through several terrific teachers, thorough textbooks and daily life enriching. Growing up in Botswana, speaking this beautiful and intricate language, or at least making an effort to do so, can transform the way you live in Botswana. I have taught semester-long regular beginners Setswana lessons to children aged 7-12 and adults, with strong emphasis on understanding grammar by breaking it down into “formulas” for how to form tenses and sentences. I teach these and vocabulary through a mix of traditional explanatory lectures, practice exercises and creative games, accompanied by study techniques I have found very useful for learning foreign languages. I have also worked as a trained English tutor, and study linguistics at university, both of which have shaped me to better understand and teach language. Each class will consist of grammar formulas (eg: basic conjugation in the present tense: linking pronoun [for the human noun class group, for example: ke=I, o=you, o=him/her, re=we, le=you plural, ba=they] + “tla” [as in “will”] + verb), some vocabulary words, spoken or written exercises or games to go through together and longer practice exercises to build independent confidence. My teaching materials I use I developed whilst living in Botswana, and have already been used with my aforementioned classes. I hope they can help you too ! If the price is a problem, please contact me anyway and we can discuss it !

Trusted teacher: For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of tutoring in both French and English. My students have ranged in age, background, and origin, spanning children, teenagers, adults, professionals, and even seniors aged 85 and above. You might wonder why I teach both languages. Well, I am bilingual, with American and Swiss/French roots, and I currently reside in Ireland. This unique blend of experiences equips me with a strong and relevant teaching approach. I possess an intimate understanding of both cultures, enabling me to tailor my classes to the specific needs of my students. My teaching journey began during my time studying social work in French-speaking Switzerland. I started offering private French and English lessons to supplement my income, and I quickly discovered my passion for it. Even after graduating and embarking on a full-time career, I couldn't bear to give up this rewarding activity. I cherished the opportunity to connect with diverse individuals and assist them in achieving their language goals. In my teaching methodology, interactivity takes center stage. I employ a variety of engaging learning tools, including photos, newspaper articles, music, videos, and more. My approach is highly adaptable, with a focus on addressing each student's unique priorities. Some seek to refine their pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary, while others require assistance with presentations or speeches for school or work. Some simply aspire to acquire a new language to enrich their general knowledge. I also specialize in teaching younger children, a testament to my educational background and experience. What you will gain from my courses extends beyond impeccable pronunciation and enhanced vocabulary and grammar. You'll also acquire a profound understanding of the culture associated with each language. When speaking a language, it's essential to appreciate the lifestyle, traditions, and heritage of the nations where it thrives. French and English are spoken as primary languages in numerous countries worldwide, each with its own unique accent and cultural nuances. The learning process is limitless! In addition to my language instruction, I'm a genealogist and host spiritual (non-religious) seminars in the beautiful West of Ireland. My passion for vegetarian and vegan cuisine adds a flavorful dimension to my life. Furthermore, I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and have operated a private "Before & Afterschool" facility along with Summer Camps catering to children aged 4 to 12 for many years. I am genuinely excited about the prospect of meeting and working with you!

Phillip
It is always a pleasure to meet Phil for our weekly online French classes. He is a patient and kind teacher and always full of energy for our class. Phil is interested in a wide range of topics, so we always have something to talk about based on an article he selected as 'homework'. What I really appreciate about his way of teaching is that he corrects me during our conversation without breaking the flow of our talk, so I can really feel my confidence in speaking French increasing each class. I woulf highly recommend Phil if you are looking for a French tutor :)

Awni
Awni is a wonderful instructor! He is very patient, will answer any question you can think of, and can have a laugh with you during lessons as well! His lessons are very helpful and structured, he is willing to go at your pace and repeat or go over things as many times as needed. It is very evident he is professional and has more than enough education and knowledge to teach the language very thoroughly!! I would highly recommend to take him as a teacher!

My 10 year old daughter has had 3 lessons with Jo so far and she is begging me to continue as she enjoys her lessons with her so much. Jo is very well organized, responsive to the child's learning needs and makes sure that her lessons are not only well organized but also fun. She makes an effort to connect with my daughter and engage with her in a motivating way. She is a fantastic teacher!
