In each lesson I include an improvisation or composing activity so that every student is able to have the chance to share their musical identity and to gain self confidence. In the lessons I encourage my students to analyse the music and to make their own solutions to practice: with younger children musical challenges become small games while for teenagers and adults they are musical puzzles to be solved. I have a focus on freeing the body to play the violin as naturally as possible inspired by how Feldenkrais Technique helped me as a student. I know that it is much more enjoyable to practice when one is pain free and feeling balanced and relaxed. I include a small warm up routine into our lessons and am always careful to introduce new playing techniques with a relaxed posture. Feeling nervous before any kind of public performance is normal and part of being a musician. I encourage all of my students to conquer their fear and to feel wonderful in their playing. It is so important to have a chance to play for others and to share music is a special gift. Visualising, memorising and breathing techniques are part of the confidence boosting preparations for students who would like to give performing a go.

My private violin lesson with Ester was absolutely perfect. I had a privilege to hear Ester play her violin and she is so good- it is crazy to think I was able to learn from her. She is also such a good teacher. Full of knowlege and patience- which is, in my opinion, a rare combination. I had no prior musical education and this was my first real music lesson. Ester managed to teach me basic note reading, correct violin holding and even playing my first tunes. Her explainations are very clear and easy to understand. And her approach is very friendly. She is also a very nice person and easy to talk to. I wish we lived in the same city so I could keep studying playing violin with Ester- that's how good she is. Lidia
