Good morning! My name is Trécy, I'm French, and I've been living in Madrid for 8 years. I've been a French teacher for 7 years and hold a degree in Spanish Philology from the Sorbonne (Paris) and a Master's in FLE (teaching French as a foreign language). My method is communicative, meaning I primarily encourage oral communication in my classes, analyzing documents, videos, and audio, but always with the goal of reviewing and studying grammatical structures, conjugation, and, above all, the vocabulary necessary for you to be able to converse in French-speaking environments. In addition, in class I practice with the students both the oral and written comprehension sections as well as the oral and written production, grammar points, conjugation, conversation... because don't forget that spoken and written French are like two different languages and it is necessary that you know how to speak and write them. I also offer varied and engaging content to my students so they can learn while having fun with videos, audio clips, role-playing games, real-life situations, debates, and more. The goal is for you to learn inductively. That is, you will analyze the grammatical structures and verb tenses that appear in the documents studied to derive the rules for these structures. We will study them together and explain them with the goal of later applying them through exercises, activities, dialogues, etc. In short, you are the driving force and the driving force behind this class! But the most important thing is that you learn and practice while having fun. In more technical terms, I prepare my students for the French DELF / DALF / EOI tests at levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 and also for the official French BACHIBAC tests for literature and competitive examinations. You will see in class that I am a teacher committed to my students, serious, dynamic, smiling, motivated, and very attentive to the questions, needs, and doubts of my students. If you have any questions, please feel free to write to me! :)

My English speaking courses are paired up with my English writing courses. You can choose the article you want to work on. It can be a news article about current affairs, an article from National Geographic or Harvard Business Review, or a fun article about dogs. We will work on one article for each set of writing and speaking courses. For the writing course, you will write a 1000-word summary and critique of the article and send it to me. I will revise your essay, give you feedback on what you can improve, and explain why your sentences are incorrect or unidiomatic. The writing course is conducted via email. We will then have a speaking course on Zoom or Skype. My English speaking courses are all about YOU speaking and me correcting your mistakes. English speaking skills can’t be improved through chit-chat. It is about correcting your mistakes repeatedly until you have internalised the correct usage. I am an extremely patient teacher. Language skills can only be acquired through repetition and having someone correct the same mistake multiple times. In the speaking course, you will present your selected article. I want you to take notes for your presentation before the class. You will summarise the article, and I will correct your grammar, pronunciation, and word usage mistakes. You will do your presentation a few times until there are few mistakes and you sound fluent. We will then move on to a discussion of the article. I also offer test prep courses for the TOEFL and IELTS. I specialise in teaching the writing and speaking sections.
