Trusted teacher: I am singer, classically trained with a main focus in early music and voice embodiment. I also studied recorder, clarinet and musicology. As a teacher and performer, I focus on a joyful, healthy and technically skilled way of singing. I focus not only on the sound production, but also on body posture, relaxation and organic movement. An happy and relaxed body creates a beautiful, natural and relaxed sound. We choose the repertoire together and work together towards developing your voice, your expressivity, text and style interpretation at your fullest potential. I have experience teaching several music genres, from classical, jazz, pop, folk music and even extended vocal techniques like growls. I am quite open to the students requests and always willing to research deeper and expand my vocal vocabulary. Singing is a vulnerable, intimate and also communal act. Sadly, our modern world has mystified it into the sphere of the "born-talent" ideal, which often scares people from even trying to sing. I find this phenomena a cruel and exclusivist perspective on singing. I consider singing an universal right, and we should all be unashamed of singing, be it in your bathtub, while walking on the street, in a dinner with friends, or in the next open stage at your local bar. We all have the capacity and the right to sing. If anybody has told you that you can't sing, they were wrong. Like any skill, you can learn it. And if you sing, you, your body, and your soul will be happier. One of my students once said: "You come for a singing lesson and you discover something new about who you are". I think that would summarize well the space I try to create in my lessons.

I am the recipient of a prestigious scholarship from the Malvina and Denise Menda Foundation of the Fondation de France. I also have a BA in Art History from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute. I teach the principles of vocal technique that form the basis of all singing styles: finding an ideal posture and alignment of the body and the air column and eliminating unnecessary tension; optimizing breathing and support (singing with the whole body); beauty and homogeneity of the voice in all registers (homogeneity especially in lyrical singing); clear and precise articulation in all languages. Of course, these bases adapt differently depending on the styles and offer keys to freeing the voice, and not to restricting the singer!
