The lesson is structured in two parts: the first half devoted to vocal technique, the second half to the musical repertoire and the learning of musical language (jazz or pop or other genre). The vocal technique that I propose is a basic technique for all types of modern singing: from postural education to the care of breathing, from the use of the abdominal muscles, to the emission of air up to the cavities of resonance. I could not believe how good I found myself feeling during this lesson! As someone who's studied a lot of yoga and various breathing techniques, I found it super-refreshing to have similar exercises presented to me but for a totally different purpose and without the dogma. I am referring to the most wonderful breathing exercises Elias taught me and led me through today. I found my head cleared in a most unexpected way! It was great. The explanations he offered of various anatomical structures were very interesting and useful. He not only explained them with words but showed me physically with his hands what he meant. It's probably about the most anatomy I've ever learned! So much went on in this lesson, it's pretty amazing! We then went on to various vocal techniques he both explained and demonstrated before I got to try them, too. My head feels so clear and fresh from this lesson, I want to say it's almost like I'm flying .... Oh, I should also say: This is not my first singing teacher! I've had singing teachers from all over and I really, really like and appreciate Elias' approach! I think he does things the way he should be done! I felt emotionally comfortable. It's a basic many teachers miss! Not Elias, though! He got everything right! I feel great and ready for my next lesson! Yay! :-D

I've been having singing classes with Kat for almost 6 months. I'm enjoying so much going to class with her once a week ! My goal is to get to know my voice, have fun, understand how it all works ; and Kat is amazing for adapting her exercices to your level ! She is supporting me in my comfort zone and also challenging me enough to evolve a bit more each time we meet. She is gifted with patience and humour, I can tell. You'll always get the meaning of the exercice she's asking you to do, which helps having an overview of what's happening in class. Thanks again Kat for all those breathing breaks in my week ! :)

I consider myself an intermediate level singer (have had four years of opera training) so listening to feedback was challenging from a new observer. It was only the first lesson so I need to do more to gauge our compatibility but he definitely seems knowledgeable about voices and ways to improve just based off of a few sounds, which I found interesting and impressive. I articulated my goals and he believes he can help me get there. He is direct and to the point - also a quality I appreciate. We'll see. But so far so good ;)
