Trusted teacher: Dear students and parents, I am an enthusiastic and hard-working multilingual (English, Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijani) Math and Statistics educator and Data Analyst with 12 years of teaching and 16 years of research experience in an international environment. Focused on an outcome-based approach to the progress and deadline-oriented. I usually hear from parents, that I make their kids to love math, and it makes me the happiest teacher. First, as a Math Teacher, my main aim is to encourage students to analyze the problem carefully and find different solutions for one question. This method helps students to choose the easiest way of solution for her/him during the exam and finish it in time. I teach students both ways how to solve questions without a calculator with math tricks, and how to use a calculator more effectively. As you know in the exam there might be non-calculator and calculator papers. Moreover, this ability helps students not only to understand the math subject deeply but also will be very helpful during their adult life. Having teaching experience (Math and Statistics) in one of the top universities of the US (UW-Madison) helped me clearly to see the path of a student from the school bench to the university auditorium. Only by working in both school and university, you can understand what is better to learn for a student to be helpful in the future university years and how to show the connection between the math of SAT, GRE, GMAT, and the math of the university level. Years of hands-on work experience and a keen interest in Math teaching as a profession (in both school and university), a deep understanding of the connection between the school and university Math have prepared me well to see strengths and weaknesses of the student and how to use that strong side of a student to improve the gaps that student earned in her/his earlier years. Therefore, I believe that all these experiences will help me smoothly rise the level of my students and succeed in their future life. Sincerely, Leila

Trusted teacher: The TOEFL and SAT are standardized tests that most North American universities use as an entrance requirement for non-native English-speaking students. In order to be competitive, structured practice is a must. Moreover, having someone well-versed in each test at your side to guide you will increase your chances of getting into the school of your choice. For First Timers: We spend time becoming familiar with the structure of each section and how they are scored. This sets the student up with a "game day" mentality as test day approaches. Then we start diving into untimed practice sessions so they become familiar with the test questions and answer choices. Following this first phase, we move on to timed practice sessions, in which students can use their newly attained knowledge against the clock. We start with individual sections and then move on to larger chunks. For Those Who Have Already Taken the Test: For these students, we may take an approach that is specific to the areas that the student needs to improve. This usually requires our addressing knowledge gaps in required Math and Standard English concepts. With this system, I'm happy to say that I've helped increase student scores by up to 40%! In this class, we will set up a lesson plan that is specific to your unique learning style. It aims to carefully attend to your weakness(es) while achieving marginal gains in your stronger areas of the test. You will maximize your score by learning how to: - Be mindful of and avoid common test-taking pitfalls. - Take clear and effective notes - Structure your speaking and writing responses - Outlining - Use the test timer as a useful tool - Employ savvy time-saving tactics

Leila Shamira
I ordered a lesson from Leila for my daughter. She needed help with Calculus. Leila is really professional in Math and pedagogy. She carefully researched needs of my daughter and prepared a worksheet based on her gaps and progress. This is really professional approach. Moreover her explanations are clear and easy understandable. For some questions she showed even 2 or 3 solutions. My daughter is very happy with math lessons of Leila.

Math, English, and Test Prep Tutoring (SAT, GRE, and TOEFL) (Taichung)
Alan
Alan is a very friendly and knowledgeable teacher. He was always understanding and worked with me on my weak areas to improve my SAT score. Alan helped me score above my target score in both math and English. He provided his own material and took the time to work on assignments that were unclear even outside of our class so as not to prolong the class. I highly recommend Alan as a tutor and am very glad I found him.
