Singing Lessons: ABOUT Voice / Singing Lessons are spaces for one to come into a deeper, more informed and confident relationship with singing and voice use, offering an enriching and transformative space to explore and develop as a singer. What we might explore: -Coming into an awareness of fundamental vocal anatomy : Developing awareness of the voice, its structures and its functionality as well as its relationship to the body and its systems. -Identifying one’s own ‘Attractor State’: Coming to understand as an individual the habitual tendencies of one's own voice use and the potentials and limitations of those malleable tendencies. -Becoming equipped with practical and effective tools to promote ease, resonance and efficiency while singing: Harnessing the tools of Alexander Technique and neuroscientific application to becoming empowered in practices that release tension and allow for more easeful and skillful singing. -Working Stylistically With Repertoire: in styles inc. folk, jazz, pop, soul/r&b, light opera/legit, music theater or text. This can also include becoming adept in harmonizing and exploring different theories of music. -Becoming equipped with tools for anxiety/stage fright . Hello! My name is Sofia, and I've been teaching languages for seven years. I grew up in France and went to a bunch of multilingual schools, making me native in French and fluent in English. My lessons are heavily focused on practicality. You will speak and listen to French from day one. Grammar, use of language and sentence structure are still a part of the deal, but I focus on their functionality for the speaker. This means that, unless you are very interested in learning all of French grammar, I will not go deep into grammar topics that don't require us to. I provide: => Practical lessons, in order to get as much french out of you as possible! => A comprehensive study structure, designed according to your hardships and objectives. => Empowering lessons, in order for you to feel confortable to speak when you want to speak. => Ocasional themed lessons, to make classes dynamic and motivating. => Productive homework assignments, based on what your french speaking needs. => Exposition to the francophone world, in order to root for your imersion in the language. A little bit about me: Part of my teenage years were in Portugal, and growing up, I saw my peers having a hard time learning how to speak French and English. With time, I understood that traditional language teaching methods rarely ever insist on speaking skills, so I decided to take action and built my entire method on filling up that gap. I'm also an avid language learner, and I've been through it all: => The embarrassment of trying to speak to a local and not being understood in the least way; => The confusion of not knowing when to start => Feeling scared about making mistakes in my goal language and post-poning my learning because of that. => And all the hardships you can think of!! Recently, I've reached my 100th happy student. I want to help another 100 of you. Can you help me with that?
