Trusted teacher: 💬 A customised English accent coaching / training course with a dedicated native-speaking coach will enhance your communication skills, boost your confidence, and ensure you can be easily understood in English conversations, presentations and meetings. I help clients identify and fix the issues that cause misunderstandings, helping you cultivate a more natural and relaxed speaking style. In our course, we'll work on building stronger connections between your mind and your speech muscles so that you can make adjustments that help you sound more native. We'll also compare the similarities and differences between your natural accent and your target English accent, so you can pinpoint the sounds that you want to work on. ⭐ Select between Accent Reduction and British English Accent Coaching. 🌍 Accent Reduction identifies and targets the issues that cause misunderstandings in your own specific natural accent. This varies depending on your accent. For Dutch speakers, this usually includes: • the consonants th, p, t, k, s, sh, r, and v • the vowels in "strut" and "foot" • making intonation less flat and more meaningful • relearning the connections between sound and spelling – famously fiendish in English! Accent Reduction is perfect for people who may feel that their accent is part of their identity and may not wish to change it completely but still want to be more understandable to an international audience. 💂 British English Accent Coaching is a step-by-step course that teaches you to sound like a British native speaker. It teaches all of the sounds that makes British English sound unique. This includes: • shifting many vowels towards a more forward placement in the mouth •adopting British intonation patterns for questions, lists and speeches • and of course the distinct British "t" sound (Brits do love their tea, after all). British English Accent Coaching is ideal for people who pride themselves on sounding like native English speakers. WHAT MAKES MY LESSONS STAND OUT? Affordability, quality, and expertise. In this industry, materials are rarely professional or customised. As an independent teacher, I provide my clients with a tailor-made learning experience just for you. If you want a mix of Accent Reduction and British English, or if you have any special requests, I will adapt the course for your needs. WHO SIGNS UP FOR AN ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION COURSE? Prounciation trainign benefits pfessionals from a variety of sectors. ABOUT ME My name’s Tom and I’m an English teacher from Southeast England, based in the Hague, Netherlands. I teach English learners how to communicate more clearly. I have taught for various schools and agencies in the Netherlands and been frustrated by the lack of high-quality teaching materials and expertise among teachers of Accent Reduction and British English pronunciation. So in 2021 I set up my freelance teaching business to change the situation. I have over 10 years of teaching experience in various countries, and I have a master's degree in Linguistics from Leiden University, with a specialisation in English Linguistics, Phonetics and Speech Processing. I am trained in speech analysis software, a highly effective tool in helping learners not only hear but also visualise their mistakes. In my spare time, I study and learn languages. I can speak Mandarin, Finnish and a smattering of many others. Currently I am learning Japanese and Dutch. I have the technical, academic, and practical skills to help you improve your accent.

Andrea - Rome, Italy£44
Trusted teacher: Ciao! 🇮🇹 My name is Andrea and I am a professional Italian teacher, I love my job and I love to meet new people from all over the world. I was born in the south of Italy and I live in the beautiful Rome. I graduated from University "La Sapienza" of Rome in 2008. Over the past years I lived in Los Angeles and London where I started to give individual and group Italian lessons for foreigners. I have been teaching for many years by now (since 2013). I teach all ages and all levels. I have been teaching children, students at school and university, professionals, artists and even foreign teachers-colleagues so far. During my course the student can learn and practice grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking, conversation, written and oral comprehension, written and oral production, standard Italian diction/pronunciation. I am an expert in standard Italian diction-pronunciation, together we can work on your school/business presentations. I can also help you understand and try to speak several Italian dialects! I also teach native Italian speakers how to reduce their regional accent. Learning a new foreign language is a complex dynamic process, so I teach following a structural traditional approach, which provides the foundation/basic rules of the language, while I tailor the lesson based on the student's needs. I assign homework and I use all the best tools - technology in order to provide the best learning experience possible. In the recent years I have been teaching mostly online, I’ve been working with the most popular websites out there on the internet for a very long time. My students have always shown me their gratitude, I am so happy and proud of their hard work and achievement. You can read their reviews and comments about my work 😊 .

Improve your speeches in public and in meetings / Brussels (Brussels)
Charlotte
Charlotte is a superb instructor. I took classes with her at her home for several months to improve my public speaking skills. During each session, Charlotte helped me work on my tone and delivery through various public speaking exercises. Charlotte asked me to prepare short written assignments before our meetings, so that I could practice delivering my script using various speaking techniques during the class. For these assignments, Charlotte was very engaged and made sure that the assignments would assist me in my specific professional goals. She did this by tailoring the subject matter to my professional work - mostly legal and political matters - and she pushed me to consider what I wanted to achieve from my audience with each speaking opportunity. Charlotte, however, is not only a skilled professional. She is also a tremendously kind, energetic and dynamic person to work with. She made me feel comfortable sharing my vulnerabilities, which made the process of receiving constructive feedback a fun and welcomed experience. She encouraged me to practice my public speaking in French - which is not my first language - and made me feel at ease. She is kind, understanding and an incredibly nice person. If you are looking for a professional who is dedicated to helping you improve, welcomes your goals and ideas, and who is a pleasure to meet with each week - then look no further than Charlotte.

English and/or French (literature, grammar, conversation etc.) (Paris)
Mélinda
Melinda is an excellent tutor and I've been completely satisfied by our clases. Melinda took care to understand my learning objectives before structuring are classes around natural conversation, reading, writing, and pronunciation. In particular, she prepares good (and interesting!) learning resources - Including new articles, film clips, and customised exercise sheets. While she speaks English fluently, she manages to teach in a clear and patient manner, meaning she rarely needs to switch to English to explain concepts. Beyond her talents as a teacher, she's incredibly friendly and personable. She's also shown a lot of flexibility regarding class scheduling. For reference to future students: I am a native English speaker learning French as a second language. I had an OK grasp of basic French before starting classes, but lacked both familiarity with grammar and confidence in speaking. I've had several lessons with Melinda and have experienced a clear improvement in my level and I will continue on a regular basis.

Italian language Class - Learn with Andrea 🇮🇹 for life, passion and work (Rome)
Andrea
I’m very grateful to have Andrea as my Italian language tutor. I am traveling to Italy soon, and his lessons have given me the confidence I need to converse in Italian when I’m there. He pays close attention to pronunciation and grammar, politely correcting you when you make mistakes and clearly teaching you the grammar rules needed to avoid making them again. The typed notes he makes during the lesson (which he sends you afterward) are clear, very helpful summaries of what we covered. I don’t think I could ask for a better tutor!
