Trusted teacher: Hello, I am a postgraduate student, looking to become and online tutor. I have a passion for learning the sciences and the arts. I play the cello, sing, paint and draw. I have a master's degree in psychology from the University of Nottingham, UK. I am also planning on completing another, more specialized master's in developmental and educational psychology at UCL in September before moving on to complete a PhD in my field of interest. Psychology is a subject that I am deeply passionate about alongside Biology and English Literature. The latter two, were subjects that I was strong at in during school. I'm also passionate about science and psychology in particular and I can provide GSCE or A Level tutoring in this subject. For English and Biology I will only conduct GCSE tutoring. Understanding the mind and how we utilize our senses can be a fascinating subject. I am willing to delve deep into the science and teach beyond the confines of a syllabus. This will also be true for Biology and English. Biology is another science that helps us understand ourselves and the world around us in a unique manner. We see the underlying structures and functions of our bodies, the environment and other organisms. English Literature is an art considering the creativity that goes into literature. To truly grasp any science, a student must be able to see the world with a curious mind and only the arts can help with this. My teaching style works in such a way that I will conduct online classes using a variety of resources including PowerPoint, Word, YouTube, Kahoot and more. Textbooks for the subject from the relevant examining body will be used to guide the learning process, but I aim to incite an intrinsic motivation to learn, as well. To this end, I ensure that my students learn in a fun, engaging and interactive manner. I will only be teaching AQA GCSEs and A Levels. I have a significant amount of experience working with children. During my undergraduate degree, I enjoyed working in many science festivals and conducted research involving children of all ages.

We live in a prescriptive world! Everywhere you look there are people offering up the latest piece of wisdom to apply to your life situations, whatever they may be; there is an answer to every problem, or so it seems! Not only is this endemic in our interaction with social media, but prescriptive, solution-focused responses are the dispositional communication methods employed the world over! People look to and turn towards trusted others for suggestions, advice, and general self-absolving of personal responsibility. We don't expect conversations with your trusted others can be any other way! In turn, others are happy to dish out their wisdom and judgements on a given situation. But, there are times, where advice received just doesn't match up to the matter at hand. People feel disenchanted with a difficult situation they are currently experiencing and when the wisdom of others doesn't lead to resolution nor a ray of self-enlightenment appears from the sky, what happens next? People go to a psychologist/psychotherapist! Why? Because a psychotherapist offers a non-judgmental space and provides their clients with the time to explore their issue out-loud. A psychotherapist phrases and constructs each of their sentences primarily to convey 'understanding,' i.e., underlying their orientation is - 'have I understood the meaning of what you are telling me?' This is imperative to allow their clients to feel like they have the space to explore. The role of a psychotherapist is not to solve their clients problem, but to help their clients solve their own! The question is, why doesn't this way of conversing happen outside a therapist's room? Do you need to study psychology for years to be able to provide this space to others (your partner, best friend, colleague)? The answer to the first question is that this 'understanding' orientation is not something taught en masse in any educational setting besides psychology programs. The answer to the second question is no! You can have a decent, working knowledge of these skills and provide this type of space for others within a number of weeks! This is what I am offering. You'll be incredibly surprised at how appreciative people are when you allow them to explore their issues for themselves and figure out their own answers! The benefits of which are far reaching in your own relationships, friendships and work-life. Message me if you have more questions. Cheers, Arron

Self Inquiry is a mindfulness healing method, optimal for people with many tensions, fears and psychosomatic complaints. I like simple, practical and effective... an activity that you should be able to explain to a 10 year old... Self Inquiry is a method to achieve and maintain a healthy balance, which should actually be learned at school, practical, simple and effective. The method is based on the principle that the signals we receive from the body are aimed at sending you to a happy, healthy and long life. In spiritual circles this collection of signals is also called 'the internal Guru'. Just as a wound on your finger heals on its own provided the right conditions are created, the body also heals the blockades and imbalances on an energetic, emotional and mental level. The body communicates with you continuously, through pain, tension, pressure, but also through love, inspiration, curiosity and zest for life. Although the body helps us to be happy, few of us Westerners have learned to listen to the body and act in line with its signals. Soooo... back to basics! From my own experience I know how tempting it can be to look for happiness outside of yourself and at the same time ignore the signals of the body. 15 years ago I ended up in a Burn Out, a very strong form of communication from the body, that it was really time for rest and reflection. The good thing is that you don't have to let it get to that point... During the lessons you will learn: - how you can strengthen the contact with yourself, with the body, with the signals from the body and how you can translate the signals into daily life and - how to live in alignment with your deepest truth, with your personal boundaries and in alignment with your deeper desires I give you the tools to do your own research and to improve. And in the meantime I will guide you through guided Self-Inquiry sessions to promote further deepening... the combination of self-practice and periodic guided sessions gives the best results.
