Saxophone lessons adapted to your needs and wishes!
Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Teaching music has been my passion for 10 years, so I really enjoy teaching my students. I love seeing them improve in each class!I will tell you a little about myself:
In 2021 I completed a Masters in Music Performance and in 2023 a Masters in Music Pedagogy. I also have many years of teaching experience in music schools and as a private teacher. I have taught from children to adults and prepared students for entrance exams. I specialize in classical, contemporary and free improvisation, but combine it with jazz, pop, rock, etc.
My pedagogical philosophy is about increasing student motivation by showing them easier, more effective and more fun tools and ways to work on our instrument. Playing an instrument shouldn't be a chore, but rather a way to switch off from the hectic pace of everyday life. For this reason, my lessons are relaxed and fun. I think improvisation is an essential tool for learning something. That's why improvisation in all its forms is always present in my lessons. I have also been playing the piano for 11 years, so I could accompany my students.
If you are interested in playing the saxophone as a hobby or professionally, I will adapt the lesson content to suit your needs and desires.

I am only too happy to recommend Gemma. She is very responsive to my needs and she also teaches a lot of games and doesn't just teach dry theory.

I offer Spanish conversation classes for all levels, needs and desires, both in person in Zürich and online. We can set the conversations on different topics proposed by me or by you (how to order in a restaurant, how to say hello and goodbye, talk about the weather, talk about the family or knowing how to indicate an address). I adapt to your level and with time and practice I can help you become fluent in Spanish.
I am a very patient girl, I speak clearly and slowly if necessary, in addition, I try to vocalize whenever I teach Spanish to other people. My native language is Spanish, but I also speak Catalan, English and German, so I could translate some things for you that you didn't understand.
If you are interested in improving or learning Spanish, do not hesitate to contact me!

Saxophone lessons with professional saxophonist for all levels, children or adults. English, Español, FrançaisProfessional saxophonist eager to teach and work to bring out the best version of yourself!
The lessons are intended for all levels, children or adults.
We follow a working method where you will continuously and deeply develop your musicality, way of playing, expressiveness and technique.
-------------------------------------------------- ----------------------
Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his DIDACTIC MASTER in 2018 at the École Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Previously, he also completed a MASTER OF INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq.
He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente.
Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ”
In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

Clarinet and Saxophone classes online to develop your own musicalityIn the classes we will address the different elements that make up music in different styles, knowing the particular language of each one. To do this, we will work on the different tools that we have with each instrument at the level at which each one is. We all know music but many times they make us believe that no, that it is necessary to know how to read and write. That is the graphic part of the language that we will learn little by little, music is a compendium of many other things. Some that we already know and others to know.
We will study the use of the keys and the positions of the clarinet, or the sax, the best way to position ourselves whether we play standing or sitting, the most efficient way to use the air, the diaphragm, the muscles. We will learn to form a good embouchure and we will develop a study method adapted to each one, according to their tastes, possibilities and interests.
I work with boys and girls from different parts of the world as well as with adults and the elderly.
In my experience I learned that, truly, the greatest limitation that we find ourselves is the very feeling of not being able, of believing that we cannot. The support of a dedicated teacher is essential to get out of those places where we accidentally enter and that sometimes limit us. We all feel that sometime. It is time for us to remedy it.
I will provide my own materials in pdf, video and audio.
There is no age limit.

Saxophone Lessons for All Abilities from a ProfessionalAs a professional saxophonist with experience playing various different styles of music, I am able to accommodate for students individual interests. With a degree in Jazz Saxophone from Leeds Conservatoire, I have high technical ability and a in depth knowledge of Jazz music theory. This is supported by my gigging portfolio that has seen me perform on tour across Europe, as well as many UK festivals, and on stages with bands such as Madness and The Blockheads.
I tailor lessons to individuals, to help aid development and generate a strong passion for one's music. Music is subjective so I find it key for learning to be student led so as to keep sustained interest and generate a positive development cycle.

Classical-contemporary saxophone (Included: approach to improvisation, harmonic understanding and basic music theory)🎓 Graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
🎷 My courses mix practical aspects and theoretical notions, according to the interests of the student, to whom I adapt to offer them a course which really provides them with the elements which will allow them to quickly flourish in the musical field.
👨🏫 With 8 years of experience teaching non-profit organizations and in particular, I am used to training students of all ages, beginners and advanced alike.
🕺I am open to a large number of musical styles, current or old, focusing my artistic approach on an "all-musical" (by mastering the codes of harmony and melody, it is possible to understand and apprehend any new style of music)
🎶 I currently specialize in mastering the Saxophone, in a classical and contemporary repertoire.
But also, I am very open to improvisation, the practice of which I strongly encourage during classes, as well as live music such as jazz (swing, bossa, fusion, etc.).
Some parentheses are possible on electronic styles (D&B, Dubstep, Lofi, House,..)
✅ My final goal is to allow the student to express their ideas in music, and for them to evolve and flourish in what they truly like.
🐣 I take beginners without any knowledge of music theory.
I am available in:
* Brussels region.
* Region of Tournai occasionally.
* Online, via webcam lessons

Lessons are addressed to every student profile, regardless of age, level of expectations (no matter if it is seen as a hobby or rather if the individual is getting prepared for official Conservatory auditions, etc.).
We will play and/or focus on what the student is willing to deepen into (whatever music style they are interested in, more theoretical aspects or rather practical ones), trying to get the maximum profit of the employed time, and prioritising the actual learning of the person as the main factor for their motivation.
I obtained my Jazz Music Master's program at the Prince Claus Conservatoire of Groningen in June 2022.
Previously, in 2018, I graduated from my music Bachelor's at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona (Spain).

Saxophone lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced musiciansAre you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁
I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,...
After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw!
Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc.
Book a lesson and try! If you are not happy, give me a feedback and go on. If you are happy, I will be happy to help you becoming a good musician!

Jazz saxophone and improvisation classes with a professional musician.I am a professional jazz saxophonist. I attended the Lille conservatory to study classical saxophone. After graduating in 2005, I joined the conservatory's jazz class and began studying the jazz tradition. During those years, I also worked on Afro-Cuban music with percussionist Fred “El Pulpo” Savinien and vibraphonist, arranger and conductor Laurent Erdös.
I then took private lessons in Paris with Pierrick Pedron before moving to New York. While there I met jazz legend and saxophone master Bob Mover with whom I studied for several years. I also followed the teachings of Steve Houben and Fabrice Alleman in Brussels for some time. I also worked in blues, Afro-Cuban, soul and hip hop bands.
I have been teaching jazz for more than 15 years. I now live in Spain and play mainly with jazz, Afro-Cuban and blues bands on the national scene.
My classes focus on the jazz and blues tradition. I teach various aspects of jazz improvisation. The objective of the classes is to allow the student to develop a personal sound and progressively improve their rhythmic, harmonic and melodic knowledge.
