Chess is a fun game that starts with the basic rules and moves through the 3 parts of the game: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame. The focus at first is to teach you how the pieces move, what the goal of the opening is, and how the pieces interact. You will also learn the vocabulary related to chess and chess notation. Tactics are then explored to take advantage of hanging pieces, lack of king safety, space, and tempo. From here depending on what your personal goals are we will adapt the classes to cover what will help you progress. I can also give group classes, contact me if you have a group, we can discuss how to best organise those classes and pricing.

The majority of the course will consist of analyzing your games. We will also work on areas where you are lacking and which I deem essential. Find the openings that suit you. You help spot tactics through weak signals. No longer be afraid of finals. I will develop a program for you. Monitoring during your competitions can also be set up. We will build a solid foundation that will help you move forward.

Hi, my name is Gabriel. I'm the head coach of the chess team of the National University of Mexico (UNAM) since 2010. I speak fluent English as I lived six years in Oxford, England, when I was a child and I practice it since then. With the UNAM's team I have obtained the following titles: National Women's Championship: 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 National Men's Championship: 2018, 2019 Absolute National Championship: 2018, 2019 Panamerican 2013 in Durango: silver medal I also have extensive experience with players of all ages and levels.
