Hello All ! My name is Mario. I am a pianist, composer, producer based in Bruxelles . I have a long experience as a Jazz pianist, keyboardist and arranger and I played in a lot of different bands . In the last ten years I spent a lot of time producing electronic music and I developed my solo and other projects as a mix of jazz, electronic and neoclassical music. I have a master degree in Live Electronics took a the Antwerp Conservatory. I decided to create this course where we can explore together the basics of music production using Ableton Live suite as a reference software. Music Production is a vast subject, it’s okay to be overwhelmed. My aim will be to help you figure out your path within it, and how you can become confident in what you do. You will learn Systematic Reasoning & Logical Thinking which is a requirement for entering Computer Science program in many universities. The book “Delftse Foundations of Computation” especially its second chapter will be the main source of our lesson, but other more in-depth books will be also covered if you want to improve even further on logical thinking. What you will learn here is to reason, write, and read like a mathematician. The book we follow is Velleman's "How To Prove It", which provides a systematic attempt to reason with proofs. The book will cover Logic, Sets, Proofs, Relations, Functions, Induction, and Infinite Sets, and they are the basis for all mathematical literature. The background of calculus is not needed rather only algebra & trigonometry, and a determined, and humble, spirit.
