Hi, I am a fully qualified TEFL-accredited English teacher who grew up and studied in the UK. I can teach beginner, intermediate and advanced students, as well as those who are looking to improve their English for academic purposes. Nederlands level 0 - A1, but also A2 and further. Lessons are in English, so a good understanding of this language is required. Groups vary normally from 3 to 5 people, but 1 or 2 is also possible.

Spanish student in Wageningen University who specializes in tutoring Spanish and English for both school children and adults by offering a flexible approach, depending on the students needs. On the one hand, I can offer classes both for those interested in simply improving their speaking skills with fun coversations in Spanish while learning about Spanish culture. On the other hand, I also offer a more traditional language course set-up with assigned homework and more focus on grammar (but without leaving aside the importance of speaking and writing skills).

For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of tutoring in both French and English. My students have ranged in age, background, and origin, spanning children, teenagers, adults, professionals, and even seniors aged 85 and above. You might wonder why I teach both languages. Well, I am bilingual, with American and Swiss/French roots, and I currently reside in Ireland. This unique blend of experiences equips me with a strong and relevant teaching approach. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice. I have designed this program to combine the foundations of writing and understanding grammar usage. The grammar portion will aid students learn how to properly use grammar, such as punctuation, parts of speech, and master sentence structure. Through these lessons, I will teach students to gain confidence in speech and writing with clarity and correctness. The English portion will enhance reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and critical thinking skills. I will provide various texts and sections from selected readings to help the students develop the skills of analyzing and interpreting language. The writing portion of this class will expand the knowledge of the students to be able to express their thoughts clearly and creatively through structured writing.
