Interdisciplinary Arts & Thinking - The Visionary Freedom Lab

My name is Anita, and I am an interdisciplinary neurodivergent artist.

I combine traditional and unconventional teaching methods with an innovative approach, adapted to the fast-paced era we live in, where attention spans can be short. My teaching integrates principles of psychology to better understand each student’s unique needs and aspirations.

My goal is to nurture visionary children who have strong foundational values and a humble sense of self. I believe that true artistic mastery comes from human excellence. Also, in this way, students develop true self-confidence by evaluating their success based on personal progress rather than comparing themselves to others.

This course is especially recommended for neurodivergent children (with Autism Level 1 - Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, OCD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Hypersensitivity, and Anxiety) with multiple interests who struggle to choose, focus on, and manage various subjects. It helps develop both technique and discipline, enabling them to navigate multiple creative fields—essentially putting their eggs in several baskets while honing the skills necessary for diverse career opportunities in an uncertain job market.

The program encourages a generalist mindset, promoting versatility without compromising creative integrity. Students will learn to refine their Zoom In/Zoom Out perspective, gaining the ability to see both the bigger picture and the finer details of any subject. The program's structure guides the individuals through three essential phases:

Exploration Phase–Presentations, visual games, and foundational lessons introduce students to various disciplines, helping them discover their interests.
Development Phase–They start defining their creative goals, practicing their skills, and trying out various artistic approaches.
Mastery Phase - With a clear direction, students focus on long-term goals, whether as brand-focused professionals, university students, or future educators.

Disciplines covered include architecture, painting, illustration, concept design (especially for gaming), traditional animation, digital art, children's book illustration, film, creative writing, and music (the art of songwriting).

    A Purposeful, Transparent Approach

I work closely with each student, providing honest yet supportive evaluations to help identify their strengths. My goal is to guide serious and passionate learners and not to mislead families into unnecessary expenses. I strive to be straightforward in a respectful and encouraging manner, communicating if a child may not be suited for this path.

A Valuable Investment in Thinking & Creativity

Even if a student ultimately chooses a non-artistic career, this course fosters critical and creative thinking, which are essential skills for any field. The knowledge gained here is never wasted; it’s an investment in adaptability, innovation, and problem-solving abilities that transcend the arts.

    Extra information

Basic drawing supplies are included (paper, pencils, pens, watercolors, and printed materials), except for larger or more advanced projects where costs may exceed the included materials.

    About Me

I've always had a strong love for the arts, starting with dance, music, singing, and painting at the age of 3-4. At the age of 10, I enrolled in a professional art school, which opened even more creative doors for me, leading to multiple exhibitions and consistent promotions.

These early professional experiences, including participating in performing arts contests such as singing, dancing, and theatre, significantly shaped my identity and vision. They allowed me to enjoy the creative process while trying to maintain a balance between discipline and authenticity.

As an educator with an ongoing exploration of psychology and neurodiversity, I am dedicated to fostering a generalist mindset in children. I aspire to guide them on a journey of discovering their passions, refining their skills, and cultivating confidence through continuous self-improvement rather than competition.

    PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Course & Workshop – Studio Art & Theory Sessions (60–180 min)

    ■ First Session – A Complimentary Introduction

The first session offers an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a collaborative relationship.

    ■ Online classes

They will primarily focus on theory and presentation or homework/portfolio reviews. Each session lasts 30-40 minutes, followed by 15-20 minutes for questions and answers. These sessions are recorded, allowing students to revisit the content whenever they wish, ensuring long-term access to valuable insights. Throughout the course, we track progress, examining both strengths and areas for growth.

    ■ Progress Evaluation and Personalized Feedback

    • Monthly Evaluation Files
An evaluation file will be provided each month, summarizing the child’s progress, highlighting what they have learned, and identifying areas to improve. This file is printed, and the child will need a designated folder to store these evaluations.

    • Personality Profiling
A personalized profile will be created for each student, outlining their traits, preferences, and potential areas for exploration. Together, we will set small, temporary goals to work toward a larger, more defined purpose. This profile will be revisited and updated annually to reflect the student's growth and changing needs during their developmental phase.

    ■ Parent Support Program

A structured, phased program is designed specifically for parents, with regular updates (every 3 months) that outline:

    • Exploration Phase: Discovering interests and potentials.
    • Clarification Phase: Understanding immediate goals for the upcoming weeks.
    • Commitment Phase: Focusing on long-term pursuits over several months. This modular approach ensures that the program evolves with the child’s development without overwhelming families with an all-at-once structure.

    ■ Rewards and Additional Activities

Students earn symbolic rewards for their achievements, reflecting various aspects of their learning journey. Additionally, upon mutual agreement, I can offer post-session baking workshops (or on weekends) with healthy recipes and customized meal options (taking into account specific dietary needs or intolerances), reinforcing the importance of self-care and nutrition.

    ■ Homework and Scheduling

Homework will be personalized to fit the student’s schedule, considering both school and extracurricular activities, as well as their personal productivity style. Some of them may be more analytical and observant, while others are naturally more productive. I believe that productivity can bloom at any stage, and my goal is to avoid a “factory mindset.” Reflective moments are as crucial as those focused on tangible output.

    ■ Recommendations

I offer customized recommendations for books, movies, documentaries, artists, and art styles, ensuring that each resource is tailored to the student's personal interests and developmental stage to maximize engagement and understanding.

    ■ Introducing Rhetorics and Dialectics (friendly definitions for complex topics - included in Commitment Phase)

Rhetorics, particularly oratory, along with dialectics (the art of argumentation), are essential tools for expressing ideas clearly and persuasively. These skills are important not only in speech and writing but also in visual arts. They help create overall coherence by ensuring that every element of a project—whether it’s a painting, sculpture, or multimedia presentation—conveys a well-structured message.

    ■ Special Focus: Empowering Neurodiverse Learners

In my teaching practice, I place a strong emphasis on engaging neurodiverse children through a range of visual and auditory games that stimulate multiple areas of intelligence. These activities include:

    • Pattern Recognition: Exercises that encourage students to identify and predict patterns, sharpening their analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Visual and Auditory Memory Games: Interactive tasks designed to boost both visual and auditory memory, ensuring that information is effectively retained.
    • Synesthetic Activities: Creative exercises that blend sensory experiences—such as pairing colors with sounds—to enhance perceptual awareness.
    • Multiple Intelligences: Tailored tasks that address various types of intelligence, including spatial, logical, musical, kinesthetic, and interpersonal skills.

    ■ A Personal Touch on Wellbeing

Understanding the importance of nutrition, I offer healthy, ready-to-eat meals for students who might miss a meal before or after school. Drawing from my experiences with nutritional challenges during adolescence, I know how important it is to support overall well-being. This small gesture is part of my commitment to care for the whole individual—mind, body, and spirit—ensuring no one is left hungry while pursuing their creative and academic goals.

    Idris
Painting Tutor: Discover and develop your artistic language
I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. But also be mindful that as we grow our interests can change and as they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.) Have questions? Don’t hesitate to message me! I can tailor a class to your needs :)

The reason I want to become an art teacher is to help students develop their own style. Everybody has their own habits and tendencies when making art, and I want to help you thrive using your own style– or, if you want to become the master of realism and copying, I can help with that too. Every artists has their own goals! I also believe in creating art as a way of a stress-reliever. If you'd like to do your own thing while having someone to listen to, I can create art by your side and talk about you!
