I started taking violin lessons at the age of 7. After years of training, I am currently continuing my violin studies at Utrecht Conservatory. I have also attended music theory classes for 6 years because it is very useful to have some knowledge of it when playing any instrument. Harpsichord music repertoire is extremely rich and there are plenty of wonderful pieces for all levels. So even if you are a beginner I promise you will not get bored! You will learn how to ornament and decorate the melody. Baroque music is a lot about ornamentation. Emphasis will be given of course on expression and musicality. A big part of the harpsichordists job is to play the basso continuo. This mean that you will learn to improvise instantly in given base lines.

For about 14 years I have studied various aspects of music, I’ve studied piano, vocals and composition, and now I am studying piano in the jazz and pop course. Not only have I played lots of jazz and pop, I have played lots of classical, neo-soul and gospel, to me it’s important to be well versed in lots of genre’s. How amazing is it to play the music that lives in your head? Piano is by no means difficult, it make’s for a great hobby and is a wonderful stress reliever. My class is open for people of all skill levels and is held in English or Korean. Essential parts of my lessons are: -Tailor-made lessons to suit your skill level and needs. *For beginners we’ll go through basic piano skills, basic music theory and reading sheet music. *If you're an intermediate, you'll be given a class that suits your level, needs and wishes. I think if it isn't fun, it can't be music:) I studied a classical piano bachelor, and later a jazz master and a live electronics master. In the meantime, I have been teaching music. It's longer than 9 years now! Most of my students learn piano. With the starter ones, I use my own system to equally help them grow all the needed skills: body consciousness (to avoid lesions or bad habits), music theory (including writing and reading) and improvisation. Usually most songs are made of melody, chords and rhythm. From there, I can help you understand how a song works, how is it written, how does it translate to the piano... and voilá! You'll know the song by heart, and will be able to play it a bit different every time, because you won't be following a set of pre-imposed instructions. You will understand how a small system (a song) works. This way of learning can be applied to any song, from any century or style. Understanding is key! Play Chopin, write rock songs, play Monk, Bill Evans, the Beatles, make a lo-fi beat, play Beethoven, play the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Star Wars, play video game music, play salsa! bachata and make people dance, laugh or cry.
