It is based on tonal music, the progressive study of tones and not intervals outside tonal context. It recommends the separate acquisition of its various components: rhythm, reading notes, intonation it results in these well-integrated bases, sung sight reading and written dictation Why work on music theory as a subject in its own right? Because, in a course "piano / violin / vocals / clarinet ... + music theory", and as I myself have experienced, the pupil and the teacher, accomplices, always favor the instrument and the learning music theory is done in homeopathic doses. The study of the instrument is nevertheless also slowed down because of the multiple interruptions caused by ignorance of music theory. I am not suggesting that you "get rid" of music theory because its study, contrary to its reputation, is very interesting. But to diversify the difficulties that you encounter: those relating to the instrumental technique and those due to music theory. I accompany you on the piano and introduce you to the keyboard. A mini-keyboard allows you to work on your intonation at home also following my instructions. If the level allows it, I also do instrumental and vocal music theory: music theory applied to the study of your pieces, analyzed, deciphered and accompanied on the piano. Levels: for more precision, up to level "medium 2" I recommend a weekly frequency (except possibly school holidays), essential for the effectiveness of the course, as well as a minimum personal work at home.

Being a graduate of the Conservatory, I acquired a very rigorous apprenticeship in music. Today, private lessons allow me to share my knowledge and pass it on. Music is learning, but it's also a pleasure. For an optimal learning, I adapt as much as possible to the capacities of the pupil in order to be able to make him progress as well as possible, and that he thus learns the music and allow him to like to play and to make music. In this lesson, music knowledge is not a pre-requisite. Here, you will discover music theory and solfege, alongside general music - the understanding of the history and significance of music to humanity. Students have the option of standard British/ American theory (classic/jazz) or French theory/Ecriture system. From note reading to harmonization, graded syllabus (E.g ABRSM) or just to explore, lessons will be specially catered to your needs. Being able to analyze what you see will definitely greatly improve your own instrument's progress! Solfege, or solfeggio training is a specialized aural training. It can be taught in either fixed or movable do to train for strong relative pitch and rhythm stability, allowing students to 'hear' the music just by looking at the notes. This is especially useful for mastering sight-reading, transcribing and playing by ear! Adding on, the ability to analyze by ear will open your world to the music you may have not noticed before.

In 2018 I obtained my Musical Training diploma (music theory) with GOOD mention and in 2019 the certificate of analysis (scholarship), based on the study of works, numerical chords etc. In June 2019, I obtained entry into the specialized piano cycle, with VERY GOOD mention, which will allow me to take the DEM (Diploma of Musical Studies) in June 2020! Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. I have years of experience teaching children, teenagers and adults in both Latin-America and Europe, therefore understanding different appreciation levels and needs. My main goal is to help the student discover her or his voice while enjoying making music. **Class suggestions and indications** No experience is needed just bring your enthusiasm and favorite music. Classes can be given either in English, Spanish, French or Deutsch. There are no limit for styles, bring your favorite music and I will provide a safe environment for your personal and musical growth.
