As many musical instruments, piano tells a story, expresses emotional experiences, communicates desires and wishes. This class is for people (teenagers, young adults, or adults) who have always had the passion for piano but never had the opportunity to learn how to play. This class is also for those who simply want to improve their piano skills, going from a beginner to intermediate level. This class has two major focuses: 1. For beginners: main focus on on piano practice, learning new songs with incremental difficulty, and understanding of the music sheet. 2. For intermediates: main focus on intermediate/advanced songs with in depth comprehension of the music sheet. Skills you will acquire: 1. Beginners: you will learn how to play basic piano songs and obtain a basic knowledge of the music sheet. 2. Intermediates: you will learn how to play more complex songs and obtain a more advanced comprehension of the music sheet. Furthermore, you will learn the basis for piano music composition. I want this class to keep students challenged, but absolutely not overwhelmed. So, I will evaluate the few homeworks that I assign after every session and provide constructive feedbacks, in order for you to better learn.

A few topics are suggested for the interested students, Composition: have you always been interested in writing your own music or do you have a band and you want to write music for them? No matter you are a pop musician or a classical musician, During these lessons we will go through the everything you need from the basics till advanced such as, For pop artists: how to make interesting harmonies, instrumentation, how to write music for your songs, how to make interesting vocal lines, how to communicate through scores and etc. For classical composers: Instrumentation, orchestration, form, harmony, how to start, how to develop an idea, how to write it down, how to write from a very small ensemble or solo till a big orchestra, how to make a professional layout and etc. If you would like to enter a conservatory this course is highly recommended Arrangement: Are you interested in making arrangements for your own instrument or for your band? My classes are different depending on your level and age. With children from 7 to 12, we start by doing easy vocalization and start training the ear with intonation, we then have fun singing your favorite songs. With teenagers, I also start with some vocalization, a little more elaborate. Depending on the student's capabilities, we start establishing a comfortable range for them and then proceed to singing. For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation. We then proceed to singing and putting into practice our technique. Some students might need more technique before they actually sing, I like to take things slowly and make sure the student feels confident and comfortable singing.
